Knowing you don’t want kids is not easier - trust me, people judge you like crazy and you constantly have to justify why you don’t have kids. I think it’s interesting that you are questioning whether you want kids - it’s proof on how much you have grown and changed. A few years ago, I think you were just so adamant about wanting to be married young and have kids early like a lot of your friends. Let me tell you this as a follower that’s just turned 40 - life NEVER turns out how we imagine it does. Just enjoy every moment and the ride. PS: I have never ever regretted not having kids - and if anything, I am grateful to have not brought any into this world with the state it is currently in.

I am so delighted by the increased transparency about this conversation. Even just a few years ago, I felt so abnormal as I began thinking about the possibility of being child free. I’d never even considered it and felt like my world was falling apart. I felt such extreme anxiety about the idea of just pushing forward and having a child. The fact that Amelia is talking about this thought process, and that collectively people are, is so relieving of the false feeling that we are abnormal for even just thinking about this more than the average. ❤️

I think that happens to a lot of people because a lot us grew up with the expectation that we'd get married and have kids even before we had the chance to process whether or not it was what we wanted.

There’s nothing wrong with not being spontaneous. You’ve gotta stay true to yourself. Life’s not about following the crowd. It’s about staying true to yourself without people pleasing. The minute anyone people pleases they’re instantly being insincere to themselves and others around them. Do what feels good for you. ❤

How would you feel saying ‘yes’ to everything anyone asks you in January. That meal, that walk, that trip to the Maldives, that launch Go girl ! Amelia I felt the same, I didn't massively want them, didn't massively not want them, and just couldn't make up my mind. If my OH had been keen, I'd have done it, but he was same as me, and so we didn't. And I have zero regrets. Zero. But I do wish I'd either totally known I did or didn't, because it did cause me some angst in my early 30s. You're still young enough to not need to rush any decision.

That facial massage looks so good! On the point of babies, one thing I would say is to pleaaaase arm yourself with knowledge about your fertility if you haven’t already. I went to freeze my eggs in my early 30s (cos didn’t want babies then thanks) only to learn that I didn’t have many eggs left to do it, which was a shock. I’ve just turned 36 and it took a while to fall pregnant recently (IVF), so the journey may be a long one IF you decide you want kiddies so best be in control and know where you stand where you can. (Same goes with the men! A friend did this and her partner had to have an OP to get his little tadpoles out and they now have a finite amount of embryo’s to try) - sorry for the preach but spent most of my life avoiding it and the earlier you know the better equipped you could be with the quality of 🥚

Kids bring such a beautiful depth, meaning and dimension to life. You are absolutely forever changed after becoming a parent. Your heart expands beyond what you thought was possible. The growth that happens is intense as you’re confronted with so many areas of yourself that need healing, attention, improvement. I understand women choosing not to have kids and of course support everyone making this important decision (and it IS so big). However, I caution anyone who’s believing the nonsense that’s everywhere right now that promotes the idea that kids are such a burden, hamper your life, create havoc. They are gifts. They can be your greatest teacher and your best adventure ❤
@rebeccafalkner2876
@rebeccafalkner2876 9 ай бұрын
@clo_beanery yes- absolutely. If one’s ultimate goal is ‘up-leveling’ or self growth - there are tons of other ways to achieve it. Therapy, reading a book, going to a conference is certainly easier and more appropriate. Having kids shouldn’t be the intended vehicle for growth. Having kids (for most semi emotionally healthy people) often results in the gift of incredible self growth.

How do the Lilysilk pieces hold up? How do you care and wash them?
@lilysilk
@lilysilk 9 ай бұрын
Hi, thank you for your question. Generally speaking, machine washing of cashmere products is not recommended because machine washing may cause damage or shrinkage of cashmere fibers, thereby affecting the quality and appearance of cashmere products. However, if you really want to try machine washing your cashmere items, you can use a laundry bag to protect your cashmere items and choose the gentle or wool mode of your washing machine. Also, washing with cold water, low spin speed, and mild laundry detergent are also important considerations. That being said, I still recommend hand washing your cashmere items to ensure they are in the best condition possible. While hand washing can be a bit of a hassle, it better protects the cashmere fibers and prolongs their lifespan. Hope these suggestions are helpful to you. If you have any other questions, please feel free to let me know.

My husband and I decided not to have children years ago...but you can imagine the pressure to have kids from friends and family. But we both knew we couldn't deal with the every day stuff of raising a child (20+years) and to be brutally honest my husband is a wonderful provider but would have been a totally hands off dad. That wouldn't be fair to me or hypothetical kids. I'm not the "Ican do it all" type of person. So for us, it was a good decision not to have kids. My advice is that if you do have kids make sure it is someone who wants to be a father and all it entails and same thing for you. And if you decide not to have children, have fun!

Amelia, respectfully, and as a makeup artist. your eyebrows could use more shaping. Both need a more pronounced arch (which could both start further in than they currently do). Then, your left brow starts too far into the center, and also the angularity is extra pronounced., too blunt, let's say. Over all they could both use a bit more /stream lining/thinning out. They did look better fresh faced but none the less, they could use more finessing. It looked like you kept looking at them too so maybe this video caught you before your next eyebrow shaping? In which case...sorry. lol
