In case anyone was wondering, the reason that the red cabbage turned blue with bicarbonate of soda is because red cabbage juice is an indicator, meaning that it shows substance's pH value according to the pH scale. The bicarb is an alkali, therefore it appears blue because of it's pH value. 👍🏽

This is not really the food colour challenge because normally when people do this challenge they have to buy food that are already the certain colour their challenge is for an example you chose blue so u could get blueberrys etc, I think dying your foods in blue colour is a cheat and makes the challenge less a challenge. For the pancakes to make them look more blue just put the temp on low on then slowly cook it :)

its true that u can change the colors in the water of cabbage because i had an expiriment and i had to put different kinds of ingredients and i even had to put vinegar and different kinds of juice and dish soaps
