My use case for the scrapers is …..everything. You’ll see. And if you go with a full 1/2 inch socket set, go with impact. If you need thinner wall chrome, get just what sizes you need. And that shroud over the magnet is to keep it from grabbing metal things on the side of where you are trying to grab forward. However, sometimes you need to drop in a magnet and have it grab to the side and thus slide up the shroud and it will grab in all directions.

I figured as much, where theres something to be scraped, theres a scraper for the job! I fear I may've already placed the order for the chromies before your comment came through (the promo attached to them was too good to pass up). Thank you for clarifying what that magnet shroud is for, i'm not sure I ever would've figured it out.

I once knew a man addicted to crack, he frequently would rave about his dealer and what a great deal he was getting. Similarities are frightening. Do you really need a tool that is 10% better in durability but cost 300% the price?

Just to let you know those aren't carbide scrapers, they are regular old carbon steel (nothing wrong with that it's all I've ever used). Sure know that Snap-On truck feeling way back from 1984 when I was just 17 and skint, it never leaves you! New sub from England. P.S. I use plastic scrapers on the lawnmower, saves the paint!

The sliding portion of the magnet allows you to slide it down into somewhere that you don't want the magnet to stick to. That piece won't stick to metal and it allows you to get to where you need to go without the magnet getting caught up.

I love the foam, it looks great. All that foam and plastic take up a lot of room in your box. I usually end up getting rid of it after a while. I think the idea is to collect all the ractchets. I prefer the chrome handles. A pipe fits over it and you don't mess up the handle. I always seem to leave the truck with another pair of pliers. It hard to get out of the truck without somethimg something. Love the videos. You do a great job.

You're where I was at a year and a half ago when I was stricken with the Snap-on addiction. I now have 2, 68in epiq roll cabs with a top box and workcenter, 36in top and bottom, a locker and overheads. They're filled. And I'm broke! My snappy dealer bought a new truck... I also have a similar milwaukee setup for my woodworking tools. Kindred spirits, I think!

Do you really get the benefit of those tools to the tune of being broke? Unless those tools are making you money (or you’re just independently wealthy) why spend 5 to 10 times as much for a comparable tool you could pick up at Lowe’s/Home Depot.
@nednedly3962
@nednedly3962 Ай бұрын
@aeromedical6776 For me, the cost analysis is deeper than "tools that make money." There is cost avoidance on the other side of the equation. Not having to replace tools that fail more often is avoiding spending valuable time having to travel for the replacement. HD / HF / Lowes do not carry comparable tools. Their warranty is for when you need it. Snap-on is for IF you need it. There is also insurance in quality tools. When a cheap tool fails, there is a much higher risk of it taking you with it. A $500 ER copay is greater than a high-quality wrench set. Factor in the lost time from injury, and the cost increases exponentially. The best reason for buying Snap-on is for the piece of mind they bring to any given job. I know I'm holding the best tool available, generally. If frustration starts to rear its ugly head, I know to question my approach to the problem and not hurl the tool across the shop. You can't put a price on that.

I Love the swivel head ratchets, especially the 1/4” swivel head, as you can use it like a screwdriver or you can angle it in any condition to access your work. Wobble plus extensions are great, but I use my MAC 1/4” impact rated Locking extensions 3”, 6”, 12, 24” for almost everything. Magnet is protected on sidewall by that Shroud Cover to access deep into engine bay or blind hole without the magnet attaching it self to sidewall of entry. Scrapers are good for carpentry, paint & putty removal or sealant removal, etc…..a real multi use tool. I out red Locktite on screw of my flex head and it will tighten the joint perfectly

You’ll find with wobble plus when you need the wobble and press on your socket, the socket has a tendency to get pushed on the straight. The little collar on the magnet head..is to stop you from getting it stuck when your trying to get it down in a tight spot. Imagine trying to grab a bolt you dropped in a engine bay..every time you extend it down to pick it up with the magnet but the magnet gets magnetized on everything metal that's around it. The collar stops that.

Go for the Mac RBRT spanners/wrenches over the Snap on flank drive. Torque test channel did a great video on them. Try a set of the RBRT or Grip Edge hex bit sockets too. If you’re a ratchet fan, try the Hazet Hiper series, I’ve just bought the 3/8 and 1/4 and straight away they’re more of a go to than my snap on 3/8 and 1/4 ones. I actually picked up a set of the Pittsburgh Pro flex head ratchets when we were on holiday in Florida last year ( from the UK ) and I think they’re fantastic for the money.

The rbrt stuff is really good, not sure if you have a MAC truck but all MAC tools and Proto tools stuff is REALLY good alAND cheaper than snap-on with same warranty. I'm sure you already know but the "wobble plus" was invented by Ko-ken tools and the patent expired that is why other companies can now make them. Ko-ken also make great tools. I hope that you do get to try mac and proto rather than all snap-on I work with tools for a living so telling you from my experience. Wright tools sockets and combination wrenches, MAC tools and Proto for sockets and impact t sockets especially and precision wrenches and other hand tools, Snap-on for pliers aswell as Knipex, Williams has the same sockets as Snap-on for cheaper, Ko-ken ratchets are really good no back drag, and Milwaukee for power tools. All made in USA besides ko-ken though I know they have a USA ko-ken company. In my opinion. Have a good day appreciate the video.
