Hey Peter, I just watched a boatload of your videos...good stuff! If you clean the tools before using the evaporust and you can keep reusing it (It's works using chelation). Also, checkout alloy-artifacts for info on vintage and antique US made hand tools.

I have same set along with just about every other foam set they offer. What the haters dont realize is much like your watch they are a useable store of value. If they ever get hard up for money no one is buying their Harbor Freight tools but Snap On tools are very liquid and if you buy in good condition used can usually get all of your money back.

The only thing I hate is the screwdriver holder. All my milwaukee screwdrivers won't sit up straight, the just fall to the side. Bad design 🤨

Yep, it’s my least favorite packout component. Very poor design IMO.

The m12 inflator also works great for recharging flat aerosol cans . I use a schreder valve from a bicycle inner tube and fill it to 90psi. Wear eye protection.

That's what I thought too. I bought the Ryobi 3 gal dry wet vac to go with my Ryobi table saw. And bought the adapter at HD. Works a little bit. But, I wouldn't say it even collects 50%.

Ya, not the end all be all but it helps. My biggest problem these days is forgetting to turn the vacuum on 🤣

Cool. You can use a digital torque adapter to check the calibration on your torque wrench. The are not that expensive and are quite accurate. If you put it in peak torque mode and use your torque wrench on it, it will record the torque as the wrench clicks. Also, the adapter can be used in place of a torque wrench and gives ongoing readings as you apply force and will start to beep as you close in of final torque. It's a great way to teach yourself how to use torque wrenches,

Be very careful when buying anything off of Facebook Marketplace. The majority of "deals" are either scams or counterfeit items. Many tool brands are manufactured in the same factory in China. There are differences in material and design, but it is very easy for the factory to produce counterfeit tools made of a lower quality material. This is a common practice because of the potential to make huge profits.

Just be careful with anything that can absorb water. If water stays inside a block and then is heated by the fire, the block can literally explode.

I had that exact pair of Lineman's pliers, replaced them with a green handled pair last year, 57CF(color variation) is the current part number from everything I can tell. Snap-on doesn't call them lineman's pliers anymore for whatever reason but the 7" Heavy Duty Combination Pliers that are the 57CF are damn near identical to the pair you're holding.

$2200 for some wrenches? They are wrenches that have already been copied by other companies for much cheaper. You must have money to literally burn.

Even if they were copied to the point of having all the same features and performance (which they haven’t) I don’t view a good reason to buy copies. I appreciate buying made in USA and want the, to hold their value

I'm invested in two (kinda three, but really two), DeWalt 20v/60v, and Snap-On 14.4v. DeWalt 60v saws are the bees knees. And the batteries work on their 20v tools too. I got a couple DeWalt 12v tools, but those have been relegated to backup duty only. Snap-Ons 14.4v is superior to both DeWalt and Milwaukee 12v stuff. And DeWalt 20v and 60v have been becoming superior to all others in every way lately.

Why would you cut the cords on all of chargers ?
@HeyDerFolks26 күн бұрын
I was unaware of another way to run their cabling behind the board. Some folks have since recommended I added a new plug rather than splicing, which is fair. I hadn’t considered that. The cords themselves are soldered to the chargers so I couldn’t unplug them to hide them
@jasinpedone302026 күн бұрын
@HeyDerFolks you drilled a 3/4 inch hole in your board to run the wire through the hole the plug should have fit through that 3/4 inch hole without cutting the cords on all chargers
@HeyDerFolks26 күн бұрын
It did not fit in the hole I drilled, I tried. Perhaps if I had drilled a 1 inch hole it would’ve, but then I didn’t have the rubber grommet and I indexed towards impatience

I have a lot of chainsaws some of them high end Husqvarnas and every single one leaks bar oil. It’s not really a completely sealed system, but something you can do is open up the reservoir after use to release any pressure that may be built up.
@HeyDerFolks26 күн бұрын
Fair point. I will take your advice in terms of letting out the pressure in the future. Thanks for the tip!
@davidmcgee212627 күн бұрын
The ryobi charger has a transformer in the wall plug so it’s low voltage The Milwaukee plugs are 120v in the wire. I don’t think you can solder 120v ac connections. I’m not an electrician. But I know you can’t splice romex in your house like that, either a junction box or a molex self contained connector I know in a shop if an extension cord is nicked it’s trash, can’t mend it You can add plug ends to them but no splicing Edit. Can’t find anything that says your 120V AC splice is ok Complete rewire or plug ends or molex self contained or a junction box

Cool setup Peter! Have you thought about the dangers of all the lithium batteries? Maybe a fire proof drywall setup between garage and house, and fire alarm and fire suppression system. I have a charging station in my garage and worry about fire control.
@HeyDerFolks27 күн бұрын
Thanks, Doc. I haven’t given too much thought to fire suppression. What I’ve taken to doing is turning off the surge protector when I am not in the garage, and generally removing batteries once they’re full. Will have to give more thought to the rest of it
@Firestg27 күн бұрын
I added a countdown timer to my charging station. When I charge a battery or batteries I set the timer for a little over typical charge time. Usually around 1.5 hours. Then the timer shuts the power down. I have my chargers mounted on concrete too.

@@HeyDerFolks I noticed that the more tools I had, the more people borrowed or stole them…so I made one good set, and a small amount of tools randomly through the house( ie: I keep a small screwdriver under the sink in the bathroom for the toilet seat, lights, random flathead stuff) and I found that method worked better. Still have a ton of tool kits and whatnot, but they mostly sit and pulley pullers and stuff are unique so I don’t count that type of tooling…that’s what I do and why. Have a great day man. I’m better than no one…except Sawyer Brown…he knows what he did.
