Welcome Belen to the channel! Belen and I are from the same hometown and went to the same high school. She's currently playing D1 tennis at the University of Arizona and has an aggressive game from net. Can play from the baseline too but prefers to come in to attack and finish points. I'm a USTA 4.5 and play a baseline game with more spin and try to attack the backhand.

Belen is a great player. So fluid in generating power in serve and backhand especially. Great feet, that cross court dropvolley she had showed ridiculous feel as well. She missed many balls just due to rust so this was closer because of that I reckon.

Belen's all-court style is refreshing to watch since most players are now baseline hitters. Her playing style reminds me Martina Hingis. I bet she is great at doubles.

What she said about coming to the net is very true. Even if you come in on an approach shot which isn’t the greatest, many players freak out so you get control of the point or they make an error

When Belen was on she made everything look easy.! Great technique, variety, point development and wicked racquet speed when she wanted it. Winston handled himself very well. He weathered Belen's storm in the early part of the set when things could have gone away quickly. Way to fight and stay in the match. The slice serve was on fire! Very fun match to watch - good stuff. Well done by both players!

Great forehands, lobs, and touch at the net from Belen, and love to see Winston's heavy topspin forehands doing damage, plus some nice serve out wide plus ones, especially some nice serve out wide and volley, nice playing despite some creakiness on the indoor surface

Great match! Belen made a great comment at the end of the match about getting to the net and opponents no knowing what to do. I’d really like to apply this more with a serve and volley type game, but my volleys are horrible. 😂 Winston, you’ve really improved over the last year. Keep pushing and playing top tier opponents!!

Love Winston's intensity in attempting to get to short balls after she pushed him deep. Really love the fact that Belen would force him back with a deep ball in a corner and follow it up with a short ball opposite side.

Belen's form looks good -- looks like a D1 player. Winston, it seemed to me you were a bit more consistent indoors. Would be interesting to see you play some more matches indoors to see whether it suits you better than outdoors.

Nice hitting by both of you! Winston, you keep improving as well. I think you can continue to improve your serve and get more power if you loosen up and get more rotation on your serve motion so the racket dips a little more, closer to your back. It seems like your arm is just a tad far away from the body and you are not getting full rotation that would give you more free power. I'd work on that with someone. That could bring up up to 5.0. :)

Nice video. Belen is really enjoyable to watch. She has a great serve and some old-school agressivness. You can see the D1 talent. Belen definitely looked a little rusty and had a lot of unforced errors--which presumably would have smoothed out with more exposure playing indoors.

When i used to play in the 70s thru 90s, the aggressive players were serve and volleyers. I don't even hear that term anymore. Topspin was the conventional way people hit the ball. Now all the pros hit the ball fairly flat. When I started playing, wood racquets were what most players used. Then steel Wilson racquets and oversized aluminum Prince racquets came around. And then graphite racquets became popular in the 80s. The 90s brought in the thick-framed racquets which were extra stiff and transferred vibration down your arm especially on off-center hits. People used those rubber vibration dampeners between the middle two strings near the throat of the racquet, but it deadened the hits, so I never used them. Now older people have gotten into pickleball. I will never get into pickleball. It's a game, not a sport.

Love your channel. Simple thought. On both of your serves you need to drop your racquet head by releasing your wrist on your prep ( while tossing) rather than dropping from your shoulder. It will add more snap and 4-9 mph on a flat first serve. But as they say, unsolicited advice is self serving. No pun intended. 😊

Belen is wifey material. She looks half Filipino. On a serious note, during the off season try practicing with a different racquet (more powerful) that will allow you to hit defensive shots more easier. I personally used the blade 98 for 2 years. The blade is solid at the back of the court, but it's garbage for approach shots, slice BH's, drop shots, net play, and serves. If you like coming to the net I'd experiment with a new racquet. The blade is good on offensive, but garbage on defense. Gluck!

It’s good to see you trying to rely on your serve. I think if you could do that a bit more often that would be great. I only counted two aces in that set. But if you worked a bit more on placement, your serve would be a massive weapon.

surprised that winston had trouble with her serve. what was it-big kick? she had her mechanics down though. so solid her forehand was noticeably better than Winston's but he managed to stay in it. She was just really good.
