In this video I try to answer the age old question of content velocity - HOW MUCH CONTENT IS TOO MUCH CONTENT?
How much content is TOO much content for Google - we tried to find out.
Content velocity is perhaps one of the most important topics when it comes to SEO right now - a lot of people don't know how much content to post - I'm here to say that posting TOO much can harm your website, or at least slow the growth down...
It's best to be consistent, not post too much - and try your best to not spam the internet.
Google hates it when people post too much content, so don't fall into this trap!

What are the key signs that your site has been hit by the google helpful content update? Apart from the obvious drop in impressions/clicks etc, like is there an early sign if your looking out for it?

Exactly my thought. There is nothing to suggest it would have changed the outcome, as this whole "case study" is absolutely horrendous. It's theory, not a controlled study of any sort.

I'm not sure but I think it's more because Google doesn't like new sites that bring a lot of spam to the internet quickly. Maybe it's easier for them to track better when you upload posts consistently over time and slowly that way the engine knows to look for sites where there will be more good chances for better content if the site has already proven itself to be reliable over time. This is my guess but it makes the most sense to me if I were Google.
