I tried making my voice more lively for this video but I think I forgot I was doing it toward the middle then remembered it again toward the end lol. Speaking to the camera continues to be a struggle.

Great video, it's always more fun to see budget boards modded then 'custom' new boards that are just fine stock. I wish you had also posted a sample of with PE foam that you said you disliked. It would have been nice to hear the comparison with and without. Different amounts/thicknesses of PE foam make a big difference. I have been using some very thin PE foam when modding some cheap boards recently with an "enhanced" tape mod (3x masking + 3x packing tape) and found that it really enhances things, removing any kind of rattling, but without giving that overpowering PE foam sound. You can see in the most recent video I posted, that board has PE foam and tape mod, but the switches sound very distinctly different.

Yeah I did the tape before the PE and I got lazy since I'd have to remove the tape and then put it back on to make a valid comparison so I just added the PE and the difference wasn't huge. Just sounded a bit more static-y. I'll have to check out the video you mentioned. Sounds interesting. Thanks for stopping by 😊

@@CaloysKeyboards You totally could have just done a Tape Mod w/ PE vs without, but I know it's a pain having to remove all the switches and disassemble the board to put in PE foam. Keep up the good work! I love what you do with the visualizations when you're comparing sounds.

Great video. I similarly decided to breath some life into my old tofu that’s been collecting dust by doing the gummy o-ring mod. It’s great except nothing has been able to remedy the hollowness in the left side mods so I’m hoping that maybe a silicone mod will do the trick.

Probably not since I already reviewed the R1. I try to diversify. Try as many boards as I can since money is limited. Love my R1 though and the new colors look great hehe
