Denver had a lot of gold mines as indicated by the tools on their logo. It refers to gold nuggets that were mined in the area. But I like your take on the name much better.

Yes the Denver Nuggets is a professional basketball team from Denver Colorado named by a contest amongst the citizens of Denver. The reason that the Marines are in so many Warhammer 40K reddit's is part of the Marines culture. We have two tactics 1 run over and beat everybody to death to shoot everybody live run over and beat everybody still alive to death. We are just poor simple jarheads wanting to share all of our favorite things with everybody else. I'm surprised that we do not dominate in Orcs.

Based on the Metalheads I've met, they suit pretty perfectly for what popped up for the Ork players. Also, between Asexuality and RWBY, the Tyranids subreddit was the first one to pop up with any of my interests. I have heard some say Tyranids are the closest thing to dragons in 40k and dragons are very popular among aces. Maybe I should have been a Tyrnid player all this time.

Denver checking in, wasn't expecting a Denver Nuggets shoutout on this channel! The Denver Nuggets are our professional NBA basketball team. We have the league MVP in Nikola Jokic. They're called the Nuggets as in gold nuggets, a reference to Denver's 19th century gold rush (hence the pickaxe in the logo).
