Daedra Hearts are supposed to be very rare and perilous to acquire, the Hero of Kvatch is pretty much the only person in all of Tamriel that can be reasonably expected to gather 20 of them since he eats Dremora for breakfast, and that's still only due to living during the Oblivion Crisis when the Gates provide easy access to lots of them. Even the other TES MCs would have trouble with that quest. (Not sure if there even are 20 hearts in all of Skyrim for example, so you'd have to abuse merchants restocking, which in-universe would mean importing them from other regions.) But yeah, it's some great game logic nevertheless.

@@DeuxisWasTaken You can easily harvest them with daedra summoning spells. And every chimeric/daedric ruins are overrun with them. So no, its surprisingly not hard to obtain in previous games.

"Go Fish" has a special place in my heart. I started my very first game and was just wandering around the outskirts of the city when I bumped into that fisherman. Got his scales after ages of waffling about in the water. I got curious about his comment "Almost have enough saved so I can retire..." So I broke into his house and stole his retirement money, something like a whopping 14gold, if that. Ah, the memories~

I actually enjoyed Blood on the Ice, but most likely only because, by some miracle, it worked perfectly AND, with absolutely no prior knowledge, I actually went and took Calixto's little museum tour prior to doing it. So when I got to the reveal that he was the killer, I was honestly pretty upset by the truth. I'd really enjoyed his eccentric, seemingly harmless persona of a man who just runs a fun curiosities shop. But he's been a serial killer this whole time? And he lives right next to where my adopted daughter used to sleep? The betrayal! All in all, I enjoy a little murder mystery, but I get the feeling that isn't most people's experience with that particular quest line.

I didn't even know you could end this quest the way he did in this video. I had gotten the mage arrested and left and kept the amulet. I then come back another time to find another crime scene waiting for me and the investigation starts back up.

Whaaat the Mazoga quest is great. You become a knight, you make a new friend, and you get extra gold for each black bow you collect in Rockmilk Cave, possibly the best cave in the entire game for loot.

I know a lot of people are annoyed by Mazoga's attitude, but I actually really like her. It's sweet how she warms up to the player.

Funnily enough, Lost to the Ages is probably my favorite quest in the entire game. Katria is an extremely likeable (albeit temporary) follower, the rewards are interesting, and I generally enjoy going through Falmer ruins. I always end up getting super sentimental at the end of the quest to and put all of Katria's stuff up somewhere. I wouldn't call it bad by a long shot.

Katria has always been my favorite side character. It’s satisfying to see her arc. Plus I randomly ran into her old apprentice while wearing the crown. He freaks out and you get to murder him.

Taxonomy of Obsession pissed me off so much with that stupid "You're gonna have to get me another one if it dies" bug loop where she just repeatedly murders the creatures you bring her so I just killed her to get the quest out of my quest log. This is the correct way to complete the quest.

I absolutely hated this quest... I'd do No Stones Unturned and any Nirnroot all over again over this garbage. Also she bugged for me a while later and still had dialogue for me to find the list of ingredients all over again, it just didn't show as a new quest. F**k her.

i wouldnt call "lost to the ages" a bad quest, i actually find it really enjoyable to go through. also the crown (circlet) is actually OP. .might just be me though. the only bit i;ve yet to figure out though is there's a bit in the ruins where you meet katria that has a locked gate just before the puzzle room that ypu cant access and i can never find out how to open it

Didn't call it bad as well... just has some annoying aspects that make it less enjoyable. The rewards are great and it's unique! Same with that door before the puzzle room, I just skip it altogether now...

There's a pathway close to a fallen dwarven head down at the river that loops around back to the other side of the gate. Or at least I'm 90% sure that's it, cant remember exactly.

What I hate about Blood on the Ice is that by chance, Calixto can murder someone who is actually quite valuable to you. he can murder Niranye, the fence and questgiver for Windhelm's Thieves Guild quest, and therefore ruin your progression there.

you can attack him before he kills the npcs. The guards wont be hostile to you at that point.

I love lost to the ages, it’s actually one of my favourite quests in the game. The puzzle locks and ghost follower make it feel different from just another dungeon crawl and the aetherial crown is one of my favourite items in game

The first one with the mages guild, and the other guilds are kind of silly with the suspension quests. You can straight-up murder a bunch of guildmates & all you get is suspended, and can rejoin after the first offence/offences. "Oh, even though you murdered a lot of your guildmates, you can still rejoin after doing x tasks). So you can get away with that, like it's almost nothing, but that's oblivion logic for you.

If you're the Arch-mage you can do this over and over... If you're just a member you get 1 or 2 more opportunities and then they throw you out for good! But yeah, you can murder everyone and get away with it...

Some of these quests are completely new to me. Then there are some that awaken a near-forgotten rage deep inside me. Blood on the ice is one of the latter. If I remember correctly, I pickpocketed the key off the dude and apparently that wasn't the intended way because the quest softlocked me. I spent way too much time trying to proceed before giving up.

Lost to the ages is not that bad. The part that makes it more tedious is not having map markers but honestly, that makes it more like morrowind, and that is a good thing. And the rewards are awesome looking and the crown specificly is a must have for almost all character tipes. As a mage having atronach and lord at the same time is amazing

I hate that Suspension Quest, gotten it on my character when I was using a spell I crafted to leval up a magic school. and the rest of these are also really bad, dumb or just annoying

There's plenty of other gamebreaking bugs that got left in. In major questlines too! I've never had any issues with Blood on the Ice though I would've prefered it over the other ones I encountered. Castle Volkihar gate didn't open (simple but annoying work-around for that) Alduin not landing in the scence where you learn Dragonrend (had to come back later to let it fix itself) Miraak stuck in his ethereal form during the final battle (Oh dear God that was an absolute nightmare to find a solution that worked and then being unsure if I was doing it right cause the solution was too poorly described and didn't work the first few times)

Just sell the amulet to calixto once you finish talking to viola talk to the court wizard, wait at the marketplace then kill Calixto once you see him. Don't worry the guards don't give a fuck about you attacking the dude for no reason then turn in the quest. Trust me. This will save you the headache of waiting another day for another murder to happen.

I'm surprised the, *Through A Nightmare, Darkly* Quest didn't make trio of videos. To me personally that's always been one of the worst quest in Oblivion and TES in general.

Oh yeah. No equipment. Silenced. It's the worse. Actually scratch that that's not the worse part. It's the part that you have to memorize a pattern from some scrolls from pressure plates and if you get it wrong you're dead in a instant.

@@ThatsCoolDude For me it's mostly bad because I use magic like 99% of the time, and the fact you're locked out of that is not a good thing. The fight is ok depending on your build but again if you rely on magic then it can not be ok. It is atleast straight forward tho. The two puzzle areas are also ok. The title one and the other one where it's hard as hell to see but if you go slowly to avoid the hazards then it's not so bad. I'm ok at three of four events in this quest but I can easily see the two puzzle areas being game over for some players. Now what gets me is the damn water section! It's so damn dark and you can see shit to see the right path to swim in to get past it. I know you get a few potions but sometimes they don't help so much if you don't know where you're actually going. Yes I know you can adjust the lighting hopefully depending on your tv which is basically the only way to beat this in my opinion. Somehow I gotten ok at even the water part without drowning now somehow. But back in the day it was a goddamn nightmare for me and definitely many game overs!

I actually find " Blood on Ice" to be a interesting quest. I remeber the first time I played it when entering the abandoned house and finding the secret room with human parts was realy creepy and felt like I was in some horror/ thriller movie. One of the few interesting quests in Skyrim.

Lost to the ages is actually a really good quest, it's just difficult at times. I was hoping for a better ending though, like instead of forging something you could like, ressurect the ghost follower and have a new permanent companion.

I don't like getting the Crimson Nirnroots in Blackreach, even if you hear one there is a 50% chance you won't be able to locate it. I spent quite a bit of time in Blackreach and found myself either going in circles after hearing one or getting completely distracted. What usually gets me to leave is either not finding enough food to increase my HP or the screen being blurry from exhaustion, so I don't advise going to Blackreach for long periods of time on Survival.

I remember accidentally finding out there was more to the blood on the ice quest when I revisited skyrim after probably about 6 months of not playing. I went to the windhelm jail and happened upon Wuunferth, completely oblivious to the fact that I was the one who had him arrested all that time ago

Lifting the Vale is great. There's also an unmarked quest for the Circlet of Omnipotence. I've always liked Pale Pass - and I swear I always get a Ring of Shadows when I go in there.

I was so excited for dwemer ruins to return since I loved them in skyrim. I guess what bothers me is that some of the mystery of the ruins are.. ruined? or that most of them are infested by falmers. I do however love the idea that it's essentially an entire underground city and all the ruins are connected. They just suffer a bit because even though they are quite different from each other, they feel somehow kinda same-y

15:25 the peryite quest is UNBELIEVABLY hard on legendary. The green puke attacks aren’t physical or one of the three elements either so they deal an absurd amount of damage even if you’re fully kitted out. Are they generic magic damage similar to vampire’s life steal?

They count as a shout, so probably magic like most shouts. Also, they can be fully blocked by a simple Lesser Ward like every shout can be (that includes dwarven centurion's "shout"). Yes a novice spell counters all shouts, including dragon shouts. Yes, it is dumb.

I've never been able to do the Rumare Slaughterfish quest, because every time I've started that quest, the fish never spawned.

I don't really like The Only Cure as a quest all that much, but I do like Spellbreaker. I'm not into the Dwarven ruins as much as the Nordic tombs. That being said, I like Lost to the Ages.

first time i did the rumare slaughterfish quest i didnt any quest markers so i swam around aimlessly and got 4 scales. then i left, leveled up a bunch, came back and suddenly quest markers worked. quest blew but the waterbreathing ring is nice

wow i had no idea blood on the ice was buggy its one of my favorite quests! maybe the unofficial patch mod fixes it and that's why I've never had any issues?

As for Sir Mazoga at first of course i hated her and was like "ok you die" but after she survived the fight against her target just on a sliver of health (im lvl 30 something) where i left her getting pounded by those bandits for a while (i was 100% chameleon 2 still went for me, scripted or i used acrobatics boots that ware light armour and i did not notice that yet.) i was like "dude you survived like 3 vs1 and that is more than any other npc i seen so far so you will live." And later shes alright. She would be better as a Strong Nord woman or sexy Dark Elven chick or Lusty Argo.... wait what was i on about?

Yep, dunno if there was a playthrough where I didn't have to use the console... My first character ever didn't even trigger the second phase of the quest, so Wuunferth is still rotting in jail on that one...
