Combining Automation with this engine simulator and then porting it to BeamNG is the best combination until the engine simulator is applied to future racing games as a bundled license or as a mod for current games, like Wreckfest and other racing games that have engine changes. Wreckfest is a good 2nd option thanks to engine options being minimal. BeamNG is really detailed so the program is perfect.
@fillman86
@fillman86 Жыл бұрын
wreckfest isn't really a simulator though, and the engines don't really utilize power in that way. I'd be fine with just making engines for beamng in this, but if I could also have the realistic power delivery that's possible here, that'd be great!

there's much refinement to be done, as these engines sound a bit digital, where as real engines have very different sounds due to many more factors. That being said, they are very accurate now. At 11:30 you were struggling with removing part of the string. There's a faster way of doing that. In Visual Studio you can press CTRL+H, or just expand search box - that gets you to find and replace menu. You can press that ".*" button in there, it's for regex input. And here's the regex you'd want in this video assuming the string you search for is "string_you_search_for": (?

the idle problem with your engine is, they all have a powerstroke in the same 360deg rotation cycle. you should spread that out to 720deg. this aint a two stroke. one piston in compression, an other one somewhere in its power stroke .then it will idle very smooth and low!

The 760 sure seems about right for road speed. At least compared to the harvesters I end up behind. Where I live is a small city surrounded by farming. Especially this time of year, we have a lot of these driving from field to field. Yours looks good and, except for the rear wheel steering, seems to drive realistically. I think a much fancier seat would be more appropriate for newer ones though. The new ones are *very* nicely appointed, comfy seats. air con, good sound systems, and gps are knid of minimum spec. Well done, Fillman!

@@fillman86 I juts looked and, for an $800,000 US base price cotton harvester--not the most expensive John Deere by any means--they will be happy to sell you an optional, $7,000 extra, "Ultimate Comfort and Convenience Package", I think modern cabs are pretty cushy, especially for the higher end models. Not "luxury" as we might see in a Rolls but still quite a lot better than most passenger cars. Yes, these are a pain in the butt for overtaking. Thankfully, I rarely have anywhere to be at a specific time anymore, so I can just hang back and let them do their thing. Since you have built some farm equipment in Automation, I have to guess you have at least a little interest. So, if you get a chance to go to a farm show that has good industry representation, I think you might find it also interesting to check out the really big, high end machines.

@@fillman86 I meant they use hydrolics instead of a conventional gearbox. I belive they do that to better control a stable speed. It might also help it to get a lot lower "gear" ratio.
