Bellinda....I'm sure youve had your leadership module in uni- yes it's politics 100%. All of it. Writing statements, reflections. It's constant. People complaining about smallest things - this is sad reality of working in healthcare.

HI Bellinda, I really look up to you and respect what you`re doing and what you have done so far. Its unfortunate the way things run in the work place. What is key, that you carry on striving being the best you can and continue to improve and level up no matter what. I like how you talk and say the truth and the reality of things. Wish you the best of success and keep it up! you are a star, your very strong and I'm sure you will achieve anything and everything you want! I believe what one goes through in life is preparing that person for what they really want.

THRUST MEEEEE.... i am a Care Assistant/HCA and I DREADed going in to work because of the stress, anxiety depresssion (and had a lower back injury because of the work) and politics... I can much more imagine what my RN's are going through. I am currently in Nursing school however, with my aim to finish and go DIRECTLY into GP/Community setting. I ain't going nowhere in the wards or any of that ''preceptorship'' on the ward setting. I will start my RN role in community. PERIOD.

I am in my final year of training. And have seen the kind of politics that play out within hospital- I was more inclined to community nursing as its more autonomous. I did make the mistake of comparing newly qualified nurse wages between UK and Australia. When I gain my experience also agency aside I may leave to a better paying country.

Agree with everything you’ve said. The “yes” people progress. The ones that use the ‘freedom to speak up’ and call stuff out just don’t,also the ones that go above and beyond don’t either. There’s a nurse I work with that I can only describe as an earth angel. She never leaves on time because everything has to be perfect for her patients. She goes out of her way to prepare the bedspace with toys and arranges their food plates into smiley faces, she plays harry potter potions to get the kids to take their medications. She’s the patients and parents favourite. But she’s never promoted and it really upsets her,I think it’s because of jealousy and she makes some other nurses look bad.

So glad you have made this video everything you said is so true. Racism is something we all need to start talking about and the lack of progress for black peoples due to our skin colour. Then to add insult they pay us pittance for all that work we do. Plus this government is refusing to budge on the pay rise. If I am to be honest as a nurse with 15 years experience nursing is not the way forward anymore. Safety is a issue coupled with the blame culture and the lack of progress for black people. Good for you for doing what is best for you. I have some good news I will have a video this week please stay tuned I think this info may benefit U.K. trained nurses who are having difficulties with USA credential evaluation I think you could benefit from this for your future USA move.

And the hierachy in the NHS is A VERY REAL THING. i have seen some of my RNs nurses in same area for years, and other Eurpoean RNs move up from the same area within 6 MONTHS/as soon as they gain the required skills needed for the higher position. hmm...... the things I have seen.... the Good Lord knows it all..... :(

What are you studying then? Why didn’t you apply for nursing via the UCAS? It all depends on your previous transcript and you have to get it evaluated to see if you meet the uk entry requirements. If not you may have to do an access course to nursing before going to university to study nursing
