I haven't smoked weed for the last two months or so and I totally agree. I've been an on and off smoker since I was like 17, and it seems to follow this pattern where I smoke out of habit constantly, get tired of the haze, quit, and repeat. I think I'm going to try to adopt a more healthy and moderate approach to it, and treat it like alcohol, which I only drink on holidays or celebrations. Weed can be so psychedelic and spiritual and it can bring you to these divine headspaces, but I think smoking daily or frequently kind of disrespects the reverance of it. I think there's a time and a place for weed; on top of a mountain like you said, with friends celebrating the new year or a birthday, or when you're alone and simply need that spiritual kick in the butt to bring you into a mindful headspace, but I find that that divinity is lost in daily smoking. It just becomes this habitual haze that loses its meaning. I find also, that through daily meditation, yoga, breathwork, journaling, and being creative, making art and writing (which I have a hard time doing high) bring me into a sense of divinity more pure than I get with weed. You're on the right track with this for sure.

As it became a way to reduce stress and I even smoked while feeling down I decided to quit for a bit and live sober for a while, 3 weeks strong now. I used to do that but then I'd start rewarding my self for smaller things and convince myself I'd earned it and before I know it I was smoking all the time again and then I would stop for a bit and then the cycle would repeat itself again. “Weed only makes lazy people lazy.” Damn, that resonated hella. I used to smoke weed everyday for years in a row. I took a year and a half long break from it and it definitely changed my life. I was THE stereotypical, laziest, degen stoner. When I would get high all of my motivation would be wiped away. I wouldn’t clean my dishes, workout, eat healthily, etc. I always said “when I get high it feels like I’m putting my life on hold.” One night during my Stoner phase, on a hefty dose of LSD, I had a sort of epiphany. I asked myself “do I really wanna live a life where I just get really stoned every night for hours one end, watch 8 episodes of Trailer Park Boys and eat a pound of Doritos and chicken strips?” Like if I died today would I be satisfied with what I’ve accomplished? No. No I wouldn’t. Getting high may be fun and relaxing but ultimately I decided that it was squandering my potential. Now, I don’t get high anymore and I’m living a life of dignity which I can be proud of. I now read books in the evening instead of getting high. I’m on a quest to acquire as much knowledge as I can about the world. I also started running long distances (something I never did when I was high all the time). In the end, I just had to decide to stop smoking weed. Human lifespans are insanely short, and that one LSD trip really hit me hard. Life is way, way, way too short to just be wasting hours of my days watching junk television and sitting on the couch. Life is such a precious gift that we must take advantage of! Everyday is an opportunity to learn something new about this beautiful planet we live on! ~ side note: I’m fully aware that weed affects everyone differently. I just happened to be an incredibly lazy stoner. Some people it has the opposite affect on and if you’re a productive stoner then maybe weed truly can improve your quality of life. At then end of the day you’re the one that has to make the judgement call!

People think when they smoke, they just don't remember their dreams. Not so, excessive use of cannabis actually denies you rem sleep. Which is extremely damaging to your mental and emotional health. I think this is the main contributing factor to mental health issues that surrounds excessive cannabis use. Dreaming is our minds way of resolving mental and emotional issues that need addressing. Just three days of sleep deprivation can send people into pshycosis and a hallucinogenic state for exactly the same reason. Like everything moderation is key.

@@user-jl7lh4og7o If you've been smoking daily for a long time that hardly puts you in a position to judge does it. Try having a long break and compare. I've been smoking daily for over 20 years. I took 18 months out and the change it made to my life was REVOLUTIONARY i will never go back to daily smoking again. People believe that because cannabis is perhaps the most forgiving of all drugs that they can abuse it without consequence. But as with all things in life moderation is key. Even medicine is detrimental if not used correctly. I am not against cannabis or peoples right to use it, i know many people that benefit from the use of it on medical grounds. But that is not the point of this youtube video. If you use anything daily without medical cause you are an addict and an abuser. If you know someone that cannot get through a week without a drink would you consider them an alcoholic, most likely yes. Other drugs are no different. Everything has it's good and bad side. While cannabis might not be physically addictive peoples emotional and mental dependence on it is very real and can be just as damaging. I have also seen people go into a state of panic after just one smoke of something far too strong for them or an edible that was way too intense. The effect of this can take days/weeks to get over. Nothing is completely without risk. To sum up wherever you do in your life must be done with care and a responsible attitude. Part of that is accepting what might be good for you might not be good for others. Right and wrong don't really even come into it. ✌️

There's a Joe Rogan podcast where this scientist explains how whenyou smoke weed it prevents you from entering REM sleep which produces dreams. He says we HAVE to have REM sleep/dreams and that they won't go away just because you've smoked but they will build up which is why you have such vivid dreams after sobering up. It's like they NEED to be expressed which is weird af but cool. He even said that is why alcoholics have DT's because their dream function is cut off due to the alcohol and lack of REM sleep cycle that they start dreaming while awake because it needs to be let out so badly. I think the same could be said for cannabis and might be the reason why stoners are so open minded bc their waking life is essentially a dream expressing itself from suppression of REM sleep cycles... kzfaq.info/get/bejne/mNiArJdex5iXmoE.html

i doubt that, at least I slept beautifully before I had PTSD. I would say being sleepy all day would fuck your cycles up royal though. I do suspect that the pineal gland stays relatively inactive when stoned though which could defo cause issues. It fucks up my intuition and logic for sure but slows me down enough to think much more rationally.
@whitneyelizabeth1754 жыл бұрын
@@deafanddestructiononthepis3149 I think most of the info related to this is based on a purist state of being. Like, sleep on our natural circadian rhythm and secretion of melatonin is superior for the body and mind because it's our natural state compared to sleep on cannabis or other substances. Like he said in the video, sleep on cannabis isn't sleep, it's sedation. I think that means the mind might still be functioning on some level so it doesn't allow a full restoration like natural sleep would. These substances can help us and relieve our ailments but the person has to work with the underlying issues as well for optimal success and not use any substance as a fix-all or cure-all. Flooding the brain with any one substance for prolonged periods causes imbalance to (in a perfect world with great diet and zero mental ailments) our already perfectly functioning bodies. PTSD disrupts our circadian rhythms as well because the brain is running on stress hormones due to the trauma endured. I'm not a doctor but from personal experience, I'd recommend lots of sunlight to help restore balance of serotonin which then restores the natural distribution of melatonin. I know you weren't looking for advice, but I'm sorry you struggle with PTSD and only offer what has helped me. That and CBD. Microdosing helped for a while, too, but I would never recommend that to anyone I don't know first-hand. Besides all that, your comment about the pineal gland being inactive while under the influence of THC has me curious to say the least. Lol. 💞✨🎀✨💞

There isnt actually a clear scientific consensus about the influence of cannabis on sleep. The study you mentioned was done quite some time ago and wasnt conducted with a high scientific standard. There were more studies conducted which proved exactly the opposite in more recent times so at the moment we dont really know whats what. Probably the best “ I quit smoking weed video” Iv ever watched. You nailed all the points I think. Haven’t resonated with one of your video like this before ! I did 9 years of intense smoking and have just hit 1 year sober. Weed is one of the Best and worst things you can add to your life. It’s takes a lot to realize you are being consumed by it. Anyways I’m aiming for another year sober and then may take it up again. I wish you well sir - your growth this year has been astounding, keep it up.

What helped me a lot reconnect with myself after I quit weed (I used to be stoned all day long, every day), was primarily gardening then grounding. Once I got strong enough, I started swimming in lakes, hiking in the hills and cycling. I became vegan and that helped me giving up my other drugs: nicotine, caffeine and alcohol. 🌞🙏💖

What if I've never been myself until I started smoking? My whole life being clouded and restricted by my own mental health. I hit the weed and everything straightens out for me. It's like I have the ability to sort my thoughts and think more logically. Is it really holding me back if I'm using it in place of anxiety or depression meds?
@spookieghost7794 жыл бұрын
I've just been seeing a lot of videos encouraging people to quit weed lately but I think that needs some clarification. Yeah if you use it recreationally, go quit, go take a t-break, whatever. If you use it medically(especially for mental disorders) you should not just quit up out of nowhere, and your tolerance breaks should not be the same as a recreational users tolerance break.
@bxnyshit34164 жыл бұрын
@@spookieghost779 you need therapy. Nobody should use drugs as a crutch especially when it comes to mental disorders. I'm only telling you because I was on the same boat.
@spookieghost7794 жыл бұрын
@@bxnyshit3416 okay but what if I do get therapy alongside it. I mean it's not so much I use it as a crutch. It's that I dont feel like a functional member of society unless I use it. And I never did beforehand. At that point what does it matter if I've made it work for what I need it to and I feel the benefits outweigh the cons? Especially if I already dont support, enjoy, or believe in society.

Weed lowers your vibration. A lot of people say they use it for spiritual use. But they’re unaware that weed, clouds the pineal gland which is our first eye.(third eye) as well as alcohol lowers the vibration. When you alter your state of consciousness with something that harms your body in anyway. You start to attract low vibrational energy. These energies become celestial beings on the other plains. That’s why they call alcohol ‘spirits’. We open ourself up to the spirit world but the lower spirit world. That’s why we become lazy sometimes.(procrastination spirits) Sleep a lot. eat a lot.(greed spirits) if we were to be open to the spirit world without the low vibrations of weed n alcohol. We’ll come into contact with things like Christ consciousness, ancestors, archangels, and high vibrational events unfolding in our life.

I felt like I was losing my mind, anxiety was terrible, but now I am feeling much better. I have a lot more energy, conversations come much easier now, and the natural highs are coming back. Dakota! I am so stinking excited that you made this video!! I did Ayahuasca three nights at the end of October and I was off of a lot of different things such as caffeine and I quit cannabis and honestly I haven't wanted it since I was back from doing the ceremony... yes, I would have thoughts because it was a ritual in the evenings because I depended so much on it for sleep and I used to be a vivid dreamer and because I had been smoking for so many years, I had not been able to dream as vividly or remember my dreams as much, but just like you said, my dreams are so much more vivid and lifelike and crazy! I look forward to them every night like I used to. Being sober feels so amazing and I never thought that I would appreciate it. please enjoy your Ayahuasca experience and also be careful of Black magic, as I've learned in the industry that shamans will put a spell on you so that you will feel the need to come back and they drain your energy... Love you brother 💙

I had depression and anxiety too and once I gave up weed, which I used it for, I noticed that it was just a bandaid for my depression and anxiety. I was able then to face it head-on and defeat it myself with no help of a drug, just building my mental health strength, and now my overall quality life is so much better and I feel so much more confident in my skills to take on these challenges. That being said, on nights where I am really struggling, I will smoke and it does help. One thing that's nice about weed is it helps direct your thinking into the present time and just focus on existing. Many of our anxiety comes from fearful thinking of future problems, and our depression comes from our past thinking that brings pain from our memories from all those hours ruminating about it. But just don't rely on it. :) good luck

I think there are types of people that they recognize the fact that if you are not wealthy enough to do a "high" life all the time and you have from times to times to focus on something else and be productive for your own good, it's a good characteristic that even your body and mind tells you "Dude take a break do your responsibilities and your job" and then sit back and enjoy again... That's the magic behind this, you have sometimes to set some limits that will end up good in both ways.. Much love from Greece and you inspire people to do what you have done a lot keep it real
