Susan Shore’s device will become the gold standard in treating tinnitus. It is the ONLY treatment that lowers tinnitus volume. Shore herself said the device should be able to help everyone (as long as the patient can hear the audio stimulation) as ALL tinnitus comes from the DCN in the brain stem. An average of 75% reduction of tinnitus over 12 weeks. Not only did improvements remain, patients actually continued to improve after they were done with active treatment. Information about this device needs to get out. People with tinnitus need to know that there is a treatment coming out very soon that can suppress tinnitus at it’s source. Hopefully Dr. Ben will become a huge advocate for the success of this device as it has been proven to work through rigorous testing and will undoubtedly help millions of people.

So basically an ad to say your treatment is the best option? I think Susan Shore is definitely something to get excited about, I'm no expert but I think her device may be more than just a habituation device, from what I've read it reduces the sound.

I found your videos helpful in Summer/Fall 2021 when I had an onset hearing loss of about 20% with tinnitus in my R ear after tremendous neck pain about 2 weeks prior. I had a disc herniation C6-C7 and several trigger points (neck muscle knots) that I was able to treat with PT (for the trigger points) and discectomy for the C6-C7 herniation and my tinnitus went away almost entirely... would only return here and there often when I had very bad allergies or sinus/ear infections. Fast forward to Nov 2023, I had another "acute onset event" of hearing loss where I am now up to 50% hearing loss and this time with very bad high (oscillating) high pitch tinnitus in my R ear. I have fullness in both ears. Prior to the hearing loss I again had tremendous neck pain for about 2 weeks prior. I am getting PT (again) for trigger points in my neck, I have a disc bulge (no herniation this time), my masseter, jaw, and maxillary/teeth hurt (especially on R side) -- I can't help but think this again is a neck issue causing this tinnitus and hearing loss given the close immediate proximity prior. I was trying a JawRsizer (jaw exercise) which did cause some clicking in the jaw, so I stopped about a month earlier but not until I had about 10-15 "jaw dislodges". I also went through a tough divorce (so stress) and the neck pain. So my believe is this is also somatic tinnitus. My question is -- should I see a TMJ Dentist at this point? I've tried all ENT physician related options. e.g. steroids. I don't have any vertigo of any kind (so far). My ENT said I have "44% pressure and/or likelihood of Meniere's disease (cochlear hydrops)" -- I ordered a heat pad, mouthguard, and some ibuprofen to try to do what I can at home for TMJ possibility and reduce inflammation in my masseter and around the ear. But what else can I try? Also I've seen someone say Botox can be a solution for TMJ which may help alleviate the tinnitus. Any research or anecdotal takes on if this is worth trying? I'm willing to try most anything and help give more data points to your research and anyone else's. Thank you for your channel. Thanks to others who comment and share, it helps a lot. - Paul

I want to thank you for all you do, I have been using your youtube sound therapies since I woke up with tinnitus in March 2023. I believe mine is somatic tinnitus as for years I have woken with very bad headaches and had upper back and neck issues. My volume/decibel level has lessened over time using sound therapy but it is still hard to sleep. Frequency is also alot higher than when it first started. Everyone with Tinnitus is waiting for that Susan Shore device to become available. Hopefully it won't take forever to be available in the UK. If people like Dr Ben, people with huge platforms promote this device, it’ll be a success, make lots of money and it’ll spread to other parts of the world quicker. But if these people continue to downplay the device in the interest of their business products, then the device might take longer to the detriment of sufferers everywhere.

Hi Doctor. How are you? Thank you for the insightful information. Many times tinnitus is caused by severe ear wax that needs to be safely and completely cleared by an ENT or audiologist. Does an audiologist do a much better job in cleaning the ear wax completely and safely because this is important to hear a real difference? It may take a few usages of microsuction not just once to truly clean hardened ear wax correct? Would you please clarify? Thank you.
@treblehealth

Both ENTs and audiologists are trained to safely and effectively remove earwax. However, in some cases, insurance providers may require an ENT or primary care physician (PCP) to perform the procedure.

I recently learned that you can get Tinnitus when you have food intolerance, like Histamine, Oxalates, and Salicylates or have MCAS. Have you heard of this? My Tinnitus started a year ago along with different other symptoms. I started to investigate and found that being intolerant to certain foods can cause Tinnitus. I hope to hear your thoughts about it. Thank you for all your information. I did get the ear maskers from treble health and I am very happy with them. Many Blessings 🙏

We're happy that you found us and are benefitting from our program! Tinnitus can be exacerabated from food intolerance but it likely doesn't start because of that. Histamine, oxalates, salicylates or MCAS could also impact tinnitus depending on the dosage but we recommend discussing the specific side effects with your primary care or pharmacist.

Dr Ben, is it ok to use ear buds if yoy have tinnitus, some people online have said using earbuds made their tinnitus worse and by enclosing tbe eardrium tbe pressure and nearfield of the drivers can aggrevate tinnitus. I was given some earbuds for xmas to listen to tinnitus maskers but concerned using them may make it worse. Thanks in advance for your comment.

I have made myself a poor-man's DIY in-ear sound masker by cutting holes around the circumference of a standard earbud. This "fenestration" eliminates the sound blocking that the rubber skirt provides. Blocking sound, and noise-cancelling earbuds just make my T worse.

Keep in mind the volume to which you are using the sound therapy. Remember to keep the volume below your tinnitus. We do recommend open fit earbuds for sound therapy (i.e. bone conduction headphones) to allow other environmental sounds to get through.

After I playbmy in ear generators very low and take them out, in the morning time my brain plays the sounds back I can hear the Zen bells, the ocean waves and other sounds I play through these in ear hearing aide generators. Do you know why my brain would do this? Have you heard of others peoples brain recordings the sounds?

That is very normal! It will not last forever. Your brain has a lot of neurons that are firing when we use sound therapy and it is normal for one to continue to hear the sounds even when not using it.

my healthcare system is giving me corticosteroids to treat my left ear which massively spiked three months ago resulting in hearing loss in my left ear only. The steroids fixed my elbow and shoulder pain nearly instantly - loved that. But no effect on my severe tinnitus. They measured actual pressure loss and hearing loss in my left ear (it happened when I was sitting quietly in my office, calm and no stress. My ear just started ringing loudly accompanied by a rushing wind or an almost underwater sound and just never stopped.) I know this has to be something physically wrong with that ear (it's been looked at by 6 doctors who all say it's clear with no infection). I'm not imagining this sound. I refuse to believe my brain just 'came up with this sound' to fill a void from hearing loss. I'm a musician and maybe was experiencing some slight hearing loss and have had low level tinnitus past 20 years... but this all of a sudden BAM left ear half dead is too weird.
