I think the whole thing about shulk being on and off about being pissed off has alot to do with zanzas influence

My order for a lot of these changes all the time. I’m not counting X because I played half of it when it launched and haven’t gotten back to it. Really just waiting on a port or definitive edition at this point. 1. XC1: favorite story, favorite world, plus a lot of external factors that put this one ahead 2. Future redeemed: Like your X reasonings, this was my favorite gameplay/exploration/ combat progression in the series 3. Torna: just a perfect sized prequel that really improved my outlook of XC2 as a whole 4. XC3: I have the same issues as you along with the same praises. I really love the combat. It has my favorite side quests in the game. The class system is how I wanted to blade system to work when I was playing 2 initially. 5. XC2: I grew to like this game a lot more when I replayed it. This game just has the most things that frustrate me compared to the other games. The field checks and some of the beginning chapters being the biggest things. I really think I’ll like this game more and more with every replay 6. Future connected: still good just doesn’t compare to the other stuff. I really love all the games as well. 8/10 minimum as well.

I am not the biggest XC1 fan and think Shulk is a little bland but i dont agree with your critique of Shulk. Shulks anger and plot for revenge was always Zanza as he was trying to influence Shulk to revive him. Shulk was the one who wanted to use his visions to save people, and wanted to forgive those who wronged him. Zanzas visions always showed the way to gain power and destroy. You see this early in the game when Shulk described having 2 voices in his head.

It’s hard for me to rank these too since I love the franchise, but here’s what I rank them as. 1. Xenoblade Definitive Edition 2. Xenoblade 3 3. Xenoblade 2 4. Future Redeemed 5. Torna - The Golden Country 6. Xenoblade X 7. Future Connected I would also include Xenogears and Xenosaga, but I’ve only played Gears. Saga 1-3 I haven’t played at all yet.

The part about XC1's story and ending does get to me though, because while it's amazing, it's hampered only by the fact that JRPGs as a whole like Persona 5 as you mentioned tend to do it as well to the point where the plotlines and tropes can be predicted. HOWEVER, I still love XC1 and Persona 5's story, but it does mean I hold 2 in a higher regard for this given that Rex did the whole "get God out of His depression" thing instead of killing him as you'd expect. Still, the fact that we can fresher type of ending with Shulk and Rex in Future Redeemed makes it all worth it in the end.

The gameplay and the world are one of the most awesome things i ever seen. Its also the game i played the most. Since 2011 i played over 1700 hours in whole. Favorite series of all time that brought me into "real" gaming as an 13 year old. I think nothing can win over the gameplay fun of X but im still exited to 100 % every game again later this year

Yeah I can't fell the same exact way about X2 as you. I enjoyed X2 in retrospect but I still prefer X3 much more over it.

Saying that Shulk only changes becouse 7 comes back is a groose misrepresentation and misunderstanding of Shulks character. He already doesn't kill Zord before 7 even shows up. And he stops Dumban from killing metal face before he even knows if 7 even can come back in the first place. At that point he understands humans are in the mechon and he doesn't want to kill other people. And as for him being enraged sometimes. He tends to only be that way if he gets confronted with direct representation of his anger. He is calm when sord is there but get enraged when metal face shows up. He is calm on prison island until metal face shows up. He is calm on valakmountain until 7 gets taken away from him. When he is and isn't enraged is pretty consistent.

The worst part of X being stuck on the WiiU? Even if you want to pick up a used console to play it, you have to download the graphics boosting packs and the store is now defunct.

On a serious note, I keep seeing someone on a FB Xenoblade fangroup I'm in keep saying that Xenoblade 2 is "Lazy" for really, really weird reasons. One of the things this guy brought up the Affinity system is "lazy" and the map is "lazy" but also brings up the fact XB2 had a skeleton crew due to Breath of the Wild needing Monolith's crew for help. It's just weird.

If the DLC were slightly longer they could've easily be considered a whole game that surpasses the base game

This is my personal ranking: 4. Future Connected 3. Xenoblade X 2. Xenoblade 3, Torna, Future Redeemed (I just can't decide between these three) 1. Xenoblade 2 I think Xenoblade 2 is the best one in story, OST, villiains, indivual charactersand gameplay. Future Redeemed for me has the 2nd best gameplay in the series, and the fan service is awesome. Xenoblade 2 Torna's gameplay is worse than base game combat, but it's still very good, and that finale, my god. Xenoblade 1 has the worst side content and gameplay, but the pacing is the best in the series. Xenoblade 3 has the best party as a group, and it excels in every other aspect, being not the best ones in the series but npt the worse ones. You said everything about FC. I don't really like Xenoblade X's formula, that's why the game isn't very high.

Here’s my personal list from worst to best (I’ve never played x or torna but would love to at some point) 5. Future connected Like you said it’s a nice short epilogue but nothing too special. 4. Xenoblade 2 Fantastic world, characters, the best villains in the series and very fun gameplay. My issue arises with the more happy tone that feels alien compared to 1 and 3, field skills, shit tutorials and the gacha system. Also Rex doesn’t captivate me nearly as much as Shulk and Noah but still love him. 3. Future Redeemed Fantastic story but like you said it’s too damn short 😢. 2. Xenoblade 1 Has my favorite protagonist and character in the entire series and imo the most solid story and my favorite world from a pure creative standpoint. The side quests and gameplay are the worst in the series though 1. Xenoblade 3 My personal favorite story, favorite world to explore, most refined gameplay, and by far the strongest cast in my opinion. It’s not perfect but was the most complete experience in the series for me.

Xenoblade X is absolutely peak Xenoblade gameplay and exploration. Really need a Switch Port fr. My ranking would be: 1) Future Redeemed 2) Xenoblade 2 3) Xenoblade 3 4) Xenoblade X 5) Torna the Golden Country 6) Xenoblade DE - Was my favourite, and I still love it, but other games did it better, which makes sense because they're sequels and have more experience. 7) Future Connected - Genuinely didn't like this one. The only "Bad" Xenoblade game imo

Torna golden country Very unpopular opinion but one is the best story and gameplay wise and going to xenoblade 2 for me was too big of a change and didnt feel like xenoblade plus the story was cringe at times and it took a completely different path until the end and if it didnt have xenoblade in the title i would never have played it however i do enjoy it. Its not a bad game just the worst in my opinion. Eg. "Think you can take me" " dont forget me"
