When I was 12 I met a girl 2 years older than me. We became close friends and she changed schools but still came to my sports events. When she came to my games I would always think “ one day I will be apart of her wedding “ 2 years later I was 14 sitting in the pews of a Curch staring at the pink flowers on her casket. 30 minutes latter I watched them seal her tomb. The sun shines on her grave through the window in the cemetery 10 minutes away from my house. My grandmother says “ the sun shines on a happy body” that can’t be more true. This was 10 years ago

I'm actually pretty thankful that Lauren shows that she too started out like any other person. It's comforting in a way. I have a journal myself, and it's going to be so sad to read it when I am older. Nearly every page so far (I don't write often so not that many pages) I vent about my bad luck with who I happened to get a crush on and how she doesn't like me back 😅 It's just thoughts fresh from my mind, often during intense emotions, so it does not always sound very sane.

Watching this made me think: did I miss something? My childhood love life was non-existent, but I did write a bunch of stuff in a journal. And reading it made me feel, rather than being embarrassed, "Did I write this? I actually felt that way?" as well as, "She really tried her best to write out her feelings even with the simplest, childish words." It made me smile and cry bcs I remember promising myself I wouldn't hate my past self if I'd ever changed in the future. I think I kept my promise well 😊

I used my journal to vent about how depressed I was and so whenever I reread my journals, I just get bummed. Your experience was much more fun! Not relatable at all for me, but hilarious and I'm hoping you continue this

I wrote a lot about the people I hated. I wrote about my depression later on but when a teacher found it she reported it to cps or smth and my mom got in trouble (my mom knew about it already though because I told a “friend” about a year before the diary thing and she told her father and he told my mom. My mom started looking to get me a psychologist after the father thing and I got one a few months after the teacher thing)

I can relate to being an awkward kid. Heck, I'm still pretty awkward at 20 years old lol. I used to write in journals/diaries (I still do from time to time, but they're nowhere near like this haha!), although I don't think the stuff I wrote was quite like this. If you're willing to share more, Lauren, I would love a part 2!
