BMW gets a lot of flak for their terrible designs lately, but Mercedes has also taken quite the nosedive in my opinion. This E Class looks terrible. The star tail lights particularly look like a super cheap aftermarket add-on. The redesign is a pretty big improvement, but still not there yet.

agreed, and i also feel that Porsches will go down on design as well from now, atleast take Taycan for example, the Pre facelift model looks like how Porsche should facelift the new model, it's just ridiculous that brands are openly going backwards in design

But compare the new e class to the new 5 series. The 5 series looks like shit, e class looks similiar to s class and sticks to e class design language

Very good redesign! I think both are equally good. Mercedes said they are going after a fashion designer look with their cars, with lots of logos and subtle curves and creases. Think Michael Kors, Yves St. Laurent. Your redesign is good if they were going for a Mercedes' traditional E-Class business conservative look; but given Mercedes' current design intent, I think the original design works in incorporating their desired design ethos without going over the top.

Your thoughtful changes are honest improvements. I'm especially referring to the rear taillights and front headlamps and headlamp surrounds. The aesthetic power of the chamfer. 👍🖖💯

In my opinion, this w214 generation of E class I one of my favorite designs of the E claass(besides the super screen) right underneath the w213 pre facelift for me. Ik😂wild take.

hm idk cause the 2 leds in the front are meant so symbolise the E class. in the. past we had the 2 eyebrows for the E class the 1 for the C and the 3 for the S. The rear also has some meaning. The mercedes logo in the taillights is a bit off but it looks pretty cool. The redesign would also make the front end look a little too much like an EQ model.

I like your redesign. Also based on original design, it would be better if new E53 had the front bumper design (no chrome and black plastic connect between grille and headlight) and air outtake at the hood like CLE 53's front bumper and hood.

This model does not require a redesign. It is perfection. Do BMWs. Maybe they will get inspired and hire you.

It’s pretty subjective, though it definitely doesn’t look better than the previous gen. For example, I think even the redesign he did wasn’t enough, though it does look better than the original. The front end looks gaudy and heavy, nothing MB about it except the logo and panamericana grill, which even that looks too tall or something… it’s an awkward design compared to the previous gen which looked way better.

the redesigned headlights look like from the Dodge Charger SRT Hellcat from 2015 - not really Mercedes-like and really boring. The redesigned taillights - for me - are ok but i like the creative star design more. Finally something new and more often I see it on the road (here is Mercedes home) the more I like it. But you can't make everyone happy - some people think the old stuff should stay and other people want to see every time a total new concept / design ...

I have a 2021 E53, i.e. the now outdated model. I want to like the new one but i just can’t. Not down with the wavy bits. It looks elegant perhaps, but not sporty at all. This redesign goes a long way, and on the front especially reminds me how much cleaner E headlights used to be. The 2025 model is just not it.

This Benz looks like it was poorly made by some free AI image generator 🤣🤣🤣 Your redesign makes it way better, but still, Mercedes really looks tacky nowadays to me. AMG does make it looking better (it always did), but in my opinion the W212 was the last E-Class that looked good without the AMG intervention.

@@senate2674 If you are talking about buying that new E53, yes, I can't afford it, but it doesn't really phase me out. But if I could, I'd go for Audi S6 C8 sedan instead i guess. For now I have other plans :)

@@Christopher26021994 i think people are too harsh on certain designs. Some designs like the eq’s, well deserved those are probably the worst car designs ever, but this? Hhmm i think people are too harse, its definitely weird looking, but in a good and original way i’d say. Also i have caught myself blown away by cars’ up close view as opposed to a video on youtube and stuff, just saying

@@senate2674 I get you, that's okay what you are saying, some cars indeed look better in person than on photos, however I found that it is not that much of a difference, at least to me. But yeah, I'm yet to see E53 in person, so far I must say last two gens of S class always looked a bit better in person to me. C and E class however not necessarily. AMG does help a lot in looks of new Mercedes cars IMO. The eqs is hopeless however, like you've said .

In my opinion Mercedes took a bigger nosedive than BMW. Sure BMWs designs tend to be qay more polarizing and i see why many consider them ugly but atleat the cars really have a presence in the place they occupy. Many new Mercedes are just not pretty to lool up, a serious fowngrade compared to prior class and boring. You wouldn’t look twice at them.

I would like to see the glossy black of the grille surround, front lower valence and the rear spoiler in body colour. It would look much cleaner and sleeker, otherwise the changes are much welcomed. The fussy Mercedes-star patterned rear taillights looks campy and cheap, the change to a more regular and simplistic geometric graphics is definitely well needed. I’m sure Mercedes will simplify this in their next refresh, it’s gimmicky and out of place for a luxury car. The fake vents on the fenders are unnecessary and looks very cheap (like an aftermarket stick on accessory) and has no relationship to anything on the car. This overused automotive design cliche should be eliminated on all cars.

Sorry I’m a fan but redesign doesn’t work. The rear looks too narrow and lights look raised. Mercs have always had a slope in the rear while your is too angular. Front looks too top heavy in redesign. Original 8.5/10. Redesign 5/10. Keep the up the good work.

Cant stand the headlights and taillights on this thing! Sone of the tech i feel is useless. I firmly believe that just because you can, doesn't mean you should.
