I regret buying these plants, and that is hard to admit. i hate regrets, i love buying plants, but sometimes the haste of acquiring can lead to challenging realities! my mental health has been effected by these plants, and the mistakes i made surrounding them, and i am ready to move on to a new phase; no regrets! I am freeing up bandwidth to enjoy the plants i actually like living with, and i am ready to let go!
Some of the houseplants on my list are as follows:
Gloriosum
Scindapsus
Selloum
Pilea
and the list goes on...there might be a Pink Princess!

That pink princess looks 10x better than mine. I had mine for over a year and it just doesn't look good or give out pink

I got rid of my Gloriosum because of the spider mites. I'm about to offload my McDowell and Melanochrysum for the exact same reason.

If you would like to try another alocasia, the polly is definitely one of the more finicky varieties. It was my first alocasia and started my obsession but it's long gone. Regal shields, low rider, and culculata have been much more forgiving in my experience, but they also throw a fit if you touch their roots and don't like drying out fully.

Regal Shield is my only ride or (not) die Alocasia. Have her for 2+ years. Tandurusa is doing well so far. Thinking of trying it in pon.

I had all your plants in the past...but i had no regrets, its just an experience to have them, they were very nice, attractive, and we think we can look after them, but sometimes we fail....it might not be us, it could be the environment we have thats not theirs, or plant pests, the more plants we have, the more of them come....i think you are a simple plant parent like me, i dont have plant cabinets, or grow tents....we enjoy looking at the plants where we can see them as we move around our house, and also we don't need to propagate to sell...i just want to try to propagate to see if I can do it...if its easy or not...and if i did it well, i give them away to share...

It sounds like the main issue is humidity or lack of there of. That moss-like plant, is a closed terrarium material, anthurium definitely for the advanced hobbyist and lots of humidity, Gloriosum more humidity and the ficus.... well let's just say the only ficus I grow is the one that gives me fruit to eat and it grows outside. I didn't see one in the back ground, but do you run a humidifier? I have found that it helps with some of the more finicky plants. A closed container like a closed glass cabinet also might be useful for keeping such plants.

Swiss cheese plant. Everyone has one mine I got as a plug it gets dry you get a yellow leaf, you water it it gets a yellow leaf. I feel some tropicals arent meant for life indoors and that something that needs 100% humidity will forever be a spidermite magnet and a waste of time and money. I mean if you are spending 500. on a cabinet, lights, fans, humidity, temp reader for a thousand dollar cutting including 1 leaf and a stick that will live in moss or a green cup of perlite where are you winning? It's like a NICC unit in your home that will never be a thriving plant.
