My only interaction and experience with Sirius is with my folks vehicles. But I think the channels generally are rather like normals settings but maybe an extra number like 196.34 or something (?). Anyway so if you want cyber pasta horror you click there, if you want wildlife pasta the next up and so on.

I love stories set in Antarctica. A quiet, isolated shelter in a harsh, inhospitable environment. Not as lonely as outer space, or as oppressive as the middle of the ocean, but about as obscure and uncertain as both. Home base begins to feel like an old-fashioned campfire, with comrades gathering not only to ward off the literal cold, but also the melancholy of the tundra, and the madness of the storm.

I've tried plenty of channels like this and I've realized just how difficult it truly is to be a story narrator. Especially a horror one. You have to be able to do more than just know how to read. You're the only one I've found so far that's able to keep my interest in a story. There's passion, emotion, fluctuation, and life in your voice, and that's apparently difficult to pull off. So I must give you your props and praise. Thank you for being so good at what you do, I love listening to your stories at work. 👏🏽

@lostbutfreesoul
@lostbutfreesoul Ай бұрын
@@gothgirl4evr881 Assuming the letter he left was correct, there is no supernatural element here. The title of the piece contains "I am the only survivor." It is my opinion that the Mousy man is the survivor in question, not the Chaplin we where following. I was half asleep listening to this, so I am not sure if he was even present during the opening of the chest, and even if he was... he knew not to breath in. Given that he would be hunted down and killed if he leaves this place, and the next batch of people brought in will not know each other, it is likely he is hiding in plain sight while he tries to figure out the next move. Surviving doesn't mean it is over.
@gothgirl4evr881

@@lostbutfreesoul I've heard this story so many times done by Dark Somnium(it's a regular on his 24hr radio) and it is insinuated that he is a ghost, he never speaks and none of the other people ever discuss even seeing him. Other than seeing him walk down the hallway the only other time he said he sees him is drinking by himself at the bar. But that's my take on it after hearing it literally so many times that I pretty much have it memorized. I never thought I'd actually say this bc lighthouse usually blows everyone else out of the water with his narrations, but he's tied with Dark Somnium as my favorite narrators and for this story I recommend checking out DS version of it.
@thecatspajamas1442
@thecatspajamas1442 Ай бұрын
Yes, I agree that the hoodie dude was the ghost of the letter writer- as you say, he never spoke, is spoken about etc. besides which the letter says that it was him. Just because the letter writer says there wasn’t any supernatural element to what happened with him doesn’t necessarily mean that a restless spirit with unfinished business would not exist in this story.

I live in an extremely rural area. When the Hughes Net receiver is working, I often listen to stories between slow downloads, glitchy Netflix streaming, and software updates for various small appliances I have. Most of the stories make me feel a lot less isolated, but not feeling like someone is invading my existence. This story is really isolating. It makes me feel only slightly less isolated than I am. I go weeks without seeing humans and without speaking to humans. Often the stories rather make me feel as if I am in a strange sort of social interaction. This one does not make me feel that way. I am surprised there were 12 people in the story. It felt like only four, or five because some people only spoke to certain other people. In this story, it is too much like real life, even with the isolation. Nobody can trust anybody.

I've been working on a book about my life and the changes addiction made throughout my 50 years on this earth and the conclusion I made, having been raised Atheist but becoming Baptized Catholic at the beginning of my last 7 years of sobriety is the exact philosophy shared in this story... You cannot understand God until you first understand His counterpart... My Mentor repeatedly instructed me to avoid anything that came from "the devil", so anything "bad" like rock music, action or horror movies or stories, and even research about evil, but I learned on my own that it was only by delving deep into those things, especially the research that led me to absolutely adore Father Amort (the, now late, official Exorcist of the Vatican) who was the spiritually strong person in history, in my humble opinion, bcuz he had seen the worst of the worst and still believed God would prevail. You CANNOT hide your head in a hole reciting scripture and think you're going to be saved. No, you have to embrace life, which means the bad as well as the good, bcuz it makes you embrace and BELIEVE in the scripture you're reciting, and to FEEL the embrace of God's word, to KNOW there is goodness that comes from all evil. God is great, all the time...

This was sooooo good! Bleak and depressing, but so good! Definitely going to my "favorite" list so I can enjoy it again later on! 👍🏼

Ah man, I was invested in the story till 26:27. Everyone nowadays knows that it was a hoax, so any tension just left when it was mentioned.

This was truly a scary story. Normally, I listen to them relaxing in my recliner, but this one I had to relisten to it because it was very scary just waiting to hear what was next to come. It was as if I was right there as it was happening. I've watched a lot of scary movies, so I was just picturing all of it in my head. Thank you once again for a truly wonderful story.

Perhaps some truth in this. Remember what 'Buzz' Aldrin said when he first time visited South Pole. "This is pure evil". Afterwards he suffered a heartattack.

I worked at the South Pole. I got fired for vaping in my room. I accidentally set off the smoke alarm at Amundsen Scott South Pole Station. If you ever go, and you vape, bring some shower caps.

Great story but the writer forgot one key detail - there’s no day-night cycle in the polar regions. Just six months of light and six months of dark.

It is hard to believe that a priest, who studied demonology no less, would not be ticked off by at least the salt in the box, literaly moments after a shady sponsor of their venture said, that they are gonna study evil.

Okay so I listened to this three times just to be sure but the mousey man with orange hoodie didn’t stand out enough for me to get the twist at the end. I was more confused than anything. Listening to it the third time cemented in my mind that this twist would have been a heck of a lot better if orange hood would have spoken or done ( oh I don’t know) anything! Please do not misunderstand me. I thought it was a Good story by itself it’s just that the twist needed something to make it zing or whatever the correct term is. Thanks for the video.
