Ive seen this idea before. RSI is a momentum indicator, not a reversal indicator, going overbought merely means there is a lot of bullish momentum. oversold, bearish momentum. It makes no sense to trade against such momentum and trend. Divergence is a bit different.

Thanks for the great strategy as always! One note - in the second example (Euro/USD), notice that after the first trade the price makes a higher high while RSI makes a lower high, indicating a negative divergence which often precedes a reversal of the uptrend. So I'd be cautious with taking that second trade.

Exactly! Trade the opposite direction.... this is why I use Williams % indicator mostly. Williams will show you how long the price is buying or selling. I usually trade until Williams completes five pushes or pullbacks ...aka points/tips 👉🏽^^^^^ .....in short, I stay in the trade UNTIL Williams % makes the cross up or down

Very interesting concept. Personally, I don't consider an asset to be "overbought" or "oversold" unless I see a divergence on a momentum indicator (Money Flow Index is my favorite) AND there's convincing price action to back it up (usually a combination of important candle patterns, Fib levels and VWAP interaction).

how can an divergence (matematical script) predict the market flow it cant you're winrate wont exceed the 65% the only indicator you need is one we all have PRICE Candlesticks we can mark structure out of it we can mark zones out of it thats all you need

always interesting to see everyone's point of view etc, but I see a lot of hindsight in those exemples like at 7:50 you pull your fib from the "previous swing high", it's not a swing high, the swing high was on the prior day before the drop. also just after that while you got your first red candle as you expect it (and took the previous trade under those conditions) you decide to wait for no reason (other than probably knowing your SL would be hit) and decided to arbitrary wait longer and then put your SL above the previous swing high and target a 1:3 (while before you said 1:2 btw in the video) so yeah anyway, interesting video, I just hope no one tried to jump in their account to trade that without proper backtesting at the very least..

I set my RSI with 40 to 60...use that as the range and when it breaks out of that range then generally that is a breakout which then confirms with a bounce off the 40 or 60 then up or down....

In my very limited experience, a stochastic K rsi that crosses the "overbought" line is often a buy signal, and same with selling on the oversold line.

Don't forget that one of the reasons why this "buy overbought, sell oversold" strategy works is, of course, that you're looking at a 15-min timeframe, which is a relatively fleeting moment in the grand scheme. That 15-min RSI is just taking a quick breather, while the 4h, 1d, or even 1w+ RSI is not wavering from its own trend. I'm curious to know if others use not just the usual MA 50 trend indicator, but also glance at the RSI on a bigger timeframe.

Oftentimes when a bear down trend hits oversold conditions (and there is bad news surrounding the company or stock or there is a bearish technical pattern) then price will then trade sideways in a chop range to allow RSI to reset to 50-55 level area then proceed downwards again.

I wasn’t understanding with directional lines exactly where the market was going to go for day trading. Since I’m on a small account. I was a consistent bull trader and was holding many bags as soon as the market was correcting itself over the spending curve. So I was underwater I mean I was getting margin calls on a weekly basis. This method of investing is showing me a new pattern that is both effective and efficient. I did a quick fib with the dual vwap you showed in another video. I started seeing exactly how the mathematical formula was applied and it fit nicely. Your videos are very informative and helpful. As soon as my cash & sweep gets back to a positive. I’m going to join your group. To try and master IntradayTrade that way the 3 day pattern doesn’t stop me from making the most out of the market. Being bearish or bullish. Thanks again for all your hard work and support for other investors and traders that aren’t looking to make a quick buck (been investing since ‘17 and honestly it’s the longest job I have ever held.) I love it. I’m in full bore even though my family wants me to get out now. If you made a video dedicated solely to intraday trading I would be very grateful. Thank you for your time

Very good video. Works well especially on the 15-30 minute time frame. However, although this works well in trending markets, dont you find that traditional overbought/oversold indicators actually work reasonably well in ranging markets?

Use Bollinger Bands for consolidation. Wait for the breakout candle, get into the trade, make $$$

With the rsi… I use crosses above and below the 50 as a reversal… I start looking to get out when the rsi hits 70 or 30…I lost too much trading with momentum… I concentrate on buying low and selling high….low risk high reward

Another very important reverse signla is either the imprint of the bottoming tail or topping tail candle. You can see on his examples, eventhough the RSI is oversold he is still selling at 50 fib level. Why? Because theres not a bottoming tail candle or a very prominent wick to be found yet. Same on the upside.

Hi, i have been backtesting this on different crypto pairs. The success rate is really quite amazing but I couldn't see what it was exactly that would stop you from entering a trade. Besides not getting a reversal signal, how long should you wait before giving up on spotting a signal to enter the trade?

@The Secret Mindset I would also argue that using the rsi for this strategy could be pointless. In a trend you could probably just spot these on the chart by looking.

@@animal9470 like someone else said, most of the time the pullbacks in trends will bounce off the 20 and 50 EMA. When the candles start consolidating after tapping a Bollinger Band for example, its showing signs of a reversal. Adding all these confluences together will make you money. Even just trading above the 50 or 200 EMA makes people a lot of money if they know the next key level.

It's really about two things: time frame -- the lower the time frame, the less meaningful overbought and oversold levels are -- and momentum, strong trending markets RSI should be used as suggested here. Only in ranging consolidating markets (again, time frame) do these labels overbought and oversold mean anything. Try to use a MTF RSI.

Okay well I don't see this being much different than all the other pullback strategies out there using an ema as a filter. It's just another way to trade pullbacks.. cool. You still suffer from the same issues. You're gonna get chopped up in the ranges just like all the rest.
