I love my f80, but the e92 is an experience that is matched by nothing else. Those downshifts are magical on the e92

You need an e46 to drive the last of the purely mechanical M3 Is it as fast= No Is it cooler than later M cars = Definitely

I think the E90 is a great car with more soul but it's very particular. The F82 M4 whilst having less soul is a car that is well rounded and one that makes you happy in its own way. It's not about the sound or the lack of hydraulic steering, it just makes you feel special. Even when I see your videos I feel like the M4 somehow brought your inner child out. I would go with the F82 for the long term happiness

The M4 will always be my #1 favorite. That was my dream car for the longest time, and I plan on owning another F8X car soon in the future. But for now the e90 M3 is a completely different experience and I love it. I always thought they were boring cars until I owned one. Now I understand why people love e9x m3’s so much

@@AutomotiveTherapy Tbh my dream DREAM build would be F82 (love love the looks) with S85! Didn't know it can be done but after watching shmee filming that F21 with S65 and f87 front end...it changes everything for me. Oh well I wish I have infinite resources of money 💰

I want to bring up a point that I have yet to see any comment on... The hydraulic "old" steering is way more "wide" you feel more in control and connected because you can dial in a corner so much more precisely than with the newer cars. I miss this so much. I have an F83 but most of my BMWs were legacy. Yeah it's probably better in autocross mini corners but out on the road it feels over reactive.

A few years ago I sold my Sakhir Orange F80 M3 and picked up an E92 M3. The E9X is so much better imo! You're absolutely right about people needing to drive them to really understand how good they feel

Both are definitely good in their own ways. I've driven several e9x M3s, but not long enough or on roads to really get a feel for the drivetrain. Lot of times I thought about selling my F80 and getting e90 m3 and throwing SC on it lol, but being in Cali, that is easier said than done. The newer cars don't feel as connected and raw as the older one which is true for sure. I drove my f80 back to back with a G82 and mine felt more raw loll goes to show how boring the g8x are.

$6k for parts, another $2-3k in labor and tuning. Not really looking to put almost $10k into a car when I enjoy how it drives without the supercharger

My first 3 bmws were 6 speeds and I loved them. But these newer bmw manual transmissions just aren’t the same as the older ones. DCT is great for me because I daily drive my cars and live in a city with high traffic so it’s more practical… But if you’ve ever driven bmws DCT it’s actually mind blowing how similar it feels to a manual trans (just without the third pedal). One day when I buy an older bmw like e46 m3, e39 m5, z3, ect those will HAVE to be a stick because the auto sucks in those gens haha

@AutomotiveTherapy my f32 440i auto was stolen so I'm now looking at a manual f82 m4 as I did kind of miss driving manual. You reckon the DCT is just as much fun and engagement?

DCT is the better option for F8X cars but I would buy a manual M4. They are super fun to drive, but you really can’t go wrong with DCT
