It's unfortunately because a lot of male doll repaints simply don't do as well views/engagement wise as female dolls. If you'd like to see more, hisnameisakin on KZfaq does mostly guy dolls! He also did a collab with dollightful awhile back

So ironic that Ken’s whole arc in the movie is about him feeling ignored and forgotten and then Mattel releases this 😭 you did him justice though! I am forever in awe of your skills!

Despite the obvious limitations of the standard Ken sculpt, you did an amazing job at capturing Ryan's likeness!!!! I think they deliberately gave his doll a normal head because the promotion has always said" he's just Ken" which further pushes the Ryan Gosling promo messages he has been doing in videos. An official sculpt is definitely needed though

There are already sculpts available from the Ken Fashionista range that they could have used instead - and I don’t know why they didn’t! With shorter, more closely cropped sculpted hair, a dimpled chin… the Ken with the prosthetic leg 🦿 would have been a much better likeness, for example! Just alter the skin & hair colour palette!

Why have I only just now realized how miraculous it is that you work with acetone while wearing nail polish… and you never damage your nail polish?! Not only are you a fantastic artist, you're some kind of magician!

She uses gel polish. It's actually quite difficult to remove with acetone (but I totally thought the same thing when I started watching her channel).

It may not be the most intricate doll you've ever done, but it's genuinely one of my favourites. You took a generic Ken doll and gave him life. He actually resembles a person now. I love the expression you gave him. He looks so sweet, but also a little mischievous with those squinty side-eyes. You did a fantastic job!

With today's technology of scanning and 3d printing they really failed in their Ryan Gosling's 'Ken' doll. For such a high profile movie and brand I expected better. Love that you gave him a face up ❤

If you decide to do another male doll, please do one of Jack Sparrow from Pirates of the Caribbean. He's such a colorful character! I love your remake of this "Ken" doll. They made it look way too much like the Barbie doll- nothing at all like Ryan Gosling. Really great job!

Wow I don't know how, but you did it. The mold for that ken didn't look like Ryan at all 😱 they took any mold they had lying around, and said we'll use this one hahahaha. You made it look a lot like it! It was a great job, and the hair turned out great! I liked those fibers, it was very natural and soft. 👏🎉

I was excited when i heard last time that you'd work on a Ken doll too cause it's rare to see male dolls getting repainted in this channel. He might not look like Ryan Gosling but he looks more human now and somehow he reminds me of boyband members lol.

I'm so happy you repainted Ken, you don't do many male dolls on this channel but they always end up looking brilliant! They didn't even try to make the Ken doll look like Ryan which is just sad; you did a brilliant job as always Poppen. He may not be a perfect Ryan but he's a better Ken now. I'll be honest I was kinda hoping for a new outfit for Ken from Mom Atelier and I'm only a little sad we didn't get one. Do you think you'll repaint more male doll in the future? I'm a big fan of the Goddess dolls you've repainted and I'd love to see a Hades doll. Love your work as always! 😊

You did a fantastic job transformation a standard Ken into a much more realistic version. I love it. Once you see the movie I think it would be so fun to see you make more outfits and accessories for Barbie and Ken in another video. Like Ken’s Mojo Dojo Casa House outfit. And Barbies outfit in the last scene of the movie 😊

Ryan looks ten times better. They never get face molds right for these dolls. It takes a real talented artist like you poppen to bring the character out in these dolls. Absolutely love both him and barbie. Just in time for the movie too.

The Barbie movie is amazing!!!! Mattel definitely could have done a better job with both Barbie and Ken making them look more like Margot Robbie and Ryan Gosling, I think you've done an outstanding job making him look tonnes better ❤

omg, your redo is 1000% times better than the original doll!! you really captured the spirit of the character. and when you showed the two together, i burst out laughing because they look so perfect and adorable! sooooo much better than what mattel gave you to work with. if i'd been a kid and received either of those dolls, i'd have been angry and insulted--kids aren't nearly as dumb as toy manufacturers seem to think they are. :D

A vast improvement to the original paint. I was hoping he'd also get a new outfit, but the two did look phenomenal together in the end result pictures. I know they don't get as many views but i really like that you are one of the doll artists that do male repaints too.

So much fun! As a kid, I never wanted a Ken doll in my collection of Barbie stuff - thought they were kind of creepy, even as an 8 year-old. BUT your Ken is great! The toy manufacturer really goofed with this movie Ken doll: I felt sorry for him because of his dreadful hair. These two videos were pure enjoyment! Thank you❣️

As always, FABULOUS job!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️ Neither the Margot Robbie “Barbie” or the Ryan Gosling “Ken” look like the actor. I wonder if they didn’t try to perfect their looks because it is a passing fad or something? Mattel has made other celebrity dolls that were much closer to reality. But you did them both justice!!! Especially given that the facial structure wasn’t correct. Bravo!!!

Amazing job, as usual. Would absolutely love to see you tackle a male character with a larger body such as...Dwayne Johnson/Maui or Arnold Schwarzenegger/Conan the Barbarian. The old action man dolls had a bigger body you could use & add to.

LOL! It looked more like Ryan Gosling without the factory hair and face paint. Seems they had the general idea, but their face painting technique obviously hasn’t improved in decades.
