It is very easy to install and it works very well, with a clear picture through the app and good in-home use (we added the chime, which is also easy to install and doesn't require another thought to use).

This is the best video doorbell I've ever purchased. It's not perfect but much better than any of the others I've tried.

Good video Paul cheers. I'll be keen to see if you keep the Eufy after a few weeks or revert to the Nest. Just a thought, most weeks when you say "if this gets added/changed/modified etc, I'll update the description". But I never go back over every video to check and wouldn't know when etc. How about a video every few months just summarising if any of the suggestions or improvements were introduced. I really like the eufy! It worked on my existing wiring, so I could just put in 2 wires (with low voltage, so no explosion here) and it works!

Eufy have got some great cameras now and their app has come a long way from what it use to be. Using the home base just pulls it all together

Awesome review. I am sold. I’d heard about this a while ago but been waiting for Matter to roll out. I thought it worked with Apple HomeKit already, that’s a shame it doesn’t hey. Eufy products are awesome, I have the solo solar camera and that’s great. I luv the fact as you said that it’s all local and no subscriptions unless you choose too. I skipped ahead, yes he did replace the nest with the eufy 😛 Thanks for the video, watching it now. I'm considering this one at the moment. The ball cam feature may sell it for me, always good to check visitors for disturbing under carriage growth prior to allowing them entry into your home.

My eufy 2k does a great job of waking me up at sunrise+ 30 mins. When it detects my car's wheels as a human, 1 to 14 times alerting me each time. And yes I have excluded the area it doesn't seem to matter.

I've got this doorbell. Love it. So much better than my old ring doorbell which died when it got a bit wet!

I had a unit fail after 35 days and they replaced it after determining it was not a USER issue. Your videos have helped me plan my smart homes. I recently installed the Unifi G4 Pro and the Eufy seems to compare very favourably and is certainly a better out of the box package (cheaper too). The G4 pro ability to notify and image quality takes a lot of beating though. Great review though. Thanks.

I still love my Ring doorbell wired, small enough to fit on the door frame, cheap enough for me to buy it at around £40 (plus £15 for a power adaptor) and it works every time! Yes it has a subscription at £2.49/month but I think that’s good value. The battery ones are up to 5x more expensive and stupidly large.

I switched to this video doorbell from a Ring model. I prefer it much more, no subscription fees and after I configured the detection area, I no longer get false alerts. I almost don't need the second package detection camera. I have like a little alcove with a wall opposite of the camera and most of the delivery people put the package on the opposite wall instead of right below the video doorbell.

I've had a Wufy door bell for about a year now and I havent had any issues with it. I also got one for my mum but because they live ona busy street the battery doesn't last long, it is constantly activating becuase of people walking past. One of gthe great things is the compatability with the Homebase and other Eufy camera products. I've put one of the solar 2C camera's in my catery so i can check in on the cats if they are in it and its great!

Hey Paul, great video again mate, loved it!! I've got the Google Doorbell and wireless cameras. the reason I'm looking at completley changing ecosystems is because here in Australia, for some reason, the lag is extensive!! My doorbell camera won't pick up movement until the person is right at the door and it can take up to 1 minute for the footage to load which is crazy because by the time I want to talk to whoever activated the doorbell, they are well & truely gone from the scene!

Hey Paul. Love the content. Glad you decided to stay with the Eufy doorbell, because I have the single lens version and it is the worst home automation product I own! Battery life is awful, typically about a month. The main reason for this is the dam thing goes off line all the time and then just turns it signal output to full. It misses motion events all the time. Eufy replaced the unit twice and now gave me a separate motion sensor. The separate motion sensor does make it useable. I get about 2 months battery life now. Still nowhere near the advertised. All motions are captured. But there are still hours of time when the door bell is offline. Will be very interested what you think of yours over time. Goodluck! You may need it!

Paul, great videos, great channel, keep up the good work. I have this doorbell, and your review is spot on. However there is a problem here, which no doubt you'll run into. Try and get a video feed from it to the TV...like you had before. It's a no go, no RTSP stream and I don't think Eufy are going to add it. it's a real shame because I really wanted to have that functionality. Only found that out afterwards... Of course. Cheers!

Great Video, there is a wired version of the same doorbell which solves all the issues with notification and video viewing delays. I have had it for a couple of months now with no issues highly recommended.

And my Ring feeds are wildly variable. Sometimes one of my Rings just doesn't care to load. The wired units (predictably) seem to do a lot better with Ring.

I used to have a Eufy 2K single camera doorbell that I bought after some junkies tried to pick my front door open and it worked a treat! Then my downstairs neighbour went absolutely fucking insane when he realised I couldn't be intimidated or manipulated and ripped it off of my door when he realised it'd captured footage of him making plans to attack me and bragging about harassing other people. I still have all of that footage despite the camera being gone because of how the Eufy system works. 100% recommend Eufy if you have a strong Wi-Fi and internet connection.

Paul, I love your videos. Look forward to them showing up in my feed. Did you have to keep on playing the doorbell sound? I have three big dogs and you absolutely drove them CRAZY each time you played that sound. By the time they calmed down you played the sound again. And again. You won’t say ‘ALEXA’ on a video but you will play that sound again and again? Gee, thanks.

I believe you can do the same with the Google nest if you add it to home assistant and make a routine if there motion or doorbell press turn on lights. Now the setup for nest is a pain in the ass right now but you can do it

I like the balls camera feature. 😂 I have the older model and it’s very responsive. They had the same problem with it too so I’m sure they’ll fix the problem with the new model.

I've got the previous 2K one sans ball-cam, but the app definitely says it works with Homekit. I haven't tried because that would involve letting an Apple product in the house

Another good video.Running one myself since launch, been happy with it and a good upgrade from the battery 2k. One weird thing with mine and I don't know if it's the same for you Paul, but my secondary camera has much sharper picture than the main one despite being lower resolution. I am not sure if the main's HDR or wide angle lens that effects that though... Also what about HOMEASSITANT integration please?

You said Nest records 24/7 and Eufy doesn't but Eufy does if is the hard wired version instead of the battery one. Also the response time is faster on the hardwired version. Besides that great video and I love the comedy.

Consistency is key and that makes the whole thing a write-off. Even 1 in 5 recording fails or thumbnail fails kills the entire thing. It's a shame, but there's simply no room for any bugs for a doorbell cam.

Eufy makes great products

Seems the older version (The one I have) is better?! Its far far faster at notifying me than what you displayed here and slightly faster in showing the live feed. BUT it being cheaper and no subscription costs makes it the real clear winner.

Find a camera with a delay and give yourself a thumbs up. Gold.

If you use apple HomeKit, Nest + a Starling hub is still by far the best solution. Unfortunately the delay with the Eufy makes it just unusable. I’ve tried them, and their primary function is a video doorbell - which they totally fail at because 9 times of of 10, the person would have walked off by the time you answer. The new Nest stuff is so much faster. If you want a camera to trigger automations, get a proper secondary camera.

Great video Paul. Hopefully this is constructive question. I see that when you check responsiveness in notifications between two products you use 2 different phones. Would the difference in phones not effect the speed notifications are received?

Have had mine hard wired in for almost 2 months now and been very happy with it. Other than a couple of instances early on where night vision hadn’t switched off during the day (Eufy’s “solution” is to remove the camera and give it a shake lol). Other than that it’s been excellent! Added mine to HomeKit easily enough through Homebridge.

I wish I could give this a double like just for telling the delivery guy to ‘GO AWAY’! 😂 I do wish the eufy doorbells were exposed to homekit like some of their cameras are. My Eufy Camera overlooking my entrance turns on my porch light when motion is detected. I love that thing

Thats a massive doorbell!. Try the Wyze Doorbell. You never compare Wyze products. Far superior, especially outdoor cam v2.

You forgot about HOME ASSISTANT (insert pelvic thrust) integration support!! 😁 I have a Nest doorbel and everytime I think about adding it to Home Assistant, I read the instructions in anstantly give up. I’ll get there eventually, but Google really doesn’t give a shit about open source home automation. What is it like for Eufy?

I have the previous version of the Eufy doorbell, sorry, Eufy security [thing] - whichever it is. Generally it's great and I'm happy with it - battery life has been great and not having to wire it in was a selling point, I've needed to charge it twice since I've had it, I think I've had it for a good year - certainly long enough for me to forget how long I've had it! The area selection works well for avoiding false triggering. However... My biggest pet peeve can be seen at 12:50 tell me, what do you not see? Now imaging you've never seen/used this product before and are coming to your house. Yes, the button to press for the door bell!!! They've gone to great lengths to make the actual doorbell button not look like a button - which given this is a, erm, doorbell it's somewhat important in my eyes. It's not great to tell it's a press button during the day, and completely rubbish at night. I find that a bit bonkers. It comes across as more of a security camera for the door, than a actual doorbell, I wanted a doorbell. Even just an optional sticker that said "Press" to put on the button would have been an improvement, or - as they've managed to put "Eufy Security" on the thing, put "Press" on the button. I want a big old obvious button the caller can smash, not some sexy styled gloss black concave thing that looks nothing like a button. Yes it has a little ring light around the button, but that doesn't light up immediately and doesn't stay on for long, delivering something when it's dark and not paying attention to the door bell - well good luck working out there's a button there you're supposed to press. Even when the button ring light lights up, it still doesn't look like theirs a button there to press, it just looks like a little ring light, and given the camera has a ring of IR lights around it, maybe it's two cameras...? I frequently get people just banging on the door rather than using the door bell, hard to tell if that's because (a) they don't like camera doorbells, (b) they haven't figured out it's actually a doorbell, or (c) they just like trying to break my glass panel on the door... Would it be too much to ask for the to make a doorbell button look like an actual doorbell button? 🙃 Yes it's slow, my door is at 90° to the building, so it doesn't get time to detect somebody walking up to it, the time that it has to pick up somebody is 1-2 seconds before they bang on the door (and they maybe ring the bell), 8 seconds to do some action based on motion is far too long, delivery people barely give me time to get down the stairs to the door before they've run off! Other than getting a "there's somebody at the door" notification, I wasn't able to get any other motion event/actions hooked up through Alexa, maybe this is fixed now, and it's probably an Amazon failing rather than Eufy, but it still makes it a bit naff as I'd really like to have lights turn on with motion (I can do it with the door bell button press, just not motion). Some times I get the Alexa notification a long time after (30 minutes, an hour etc) the actual doorbell / security thing has detected it! Fortunately I've got use to this now, but initially it had me answering the door when nobody was there. But even when it's working properly it can be just slow enough that when I get the Alexa notification (i.e. I'm in the garage or away), the person at the door has gone. The angled wedges that came with the version I have were not enough to angle the camera for it to be usable (as I said my door is not flush with the building but 90° to in, in a sticky out part - not an unusual design - all the houses / maisonettes around here have that). I ended up having to 3D print a wedge for it. Clearly not much research was done into use cases. Ding dong volume - when it's late this can be sound loud and I worry it's annoying the neighbours, hopefully one day they'll have a morning/daytime setting (i.e. loud enough for me to hear over normal noises, or when I'm in another room, or to wake me) and a night time setting where it doesn't wake the neighbours when I have pizza delivered at 1am... I wish the home base thing had build in POE. Would be great to not have that need a power socket and power lead as well as a network connection (and for some people, it may be less trouble to run a network cable, than to have a sparks put an outlet in where they want to put the base). My plan was to put mine in the loft with my networking gear, but the Alexa notification isn't good enough so I'm still reliant on the base ding dong. The automations needs some work, I would have liked to see it have other integrations such as web hooks, MQTT, etc. Especially if/as this is a security device. I don't see much by way of that - I've gone to integrate it with my Home Assistant (behave) setup, but been put off due to how that needs to be done. Groin cam is enough to put me off upgrading! I do like the idea of parcel checking camera, but a groin cam, erm, no. I'd much rather have something like an overdoor light that had a camera facing down to check for parcels. Hope you and Mr Socky do a follow up video to cover your experiences when you've been using it for a while.

I just bought a Eufy 2K doorbell (just one camera) with a remote chime for $100, it'll get here tomorrow, hope it doesn't suck. I currently have a Ring and it's absolute garbage. I really wanted a doorbell that will work without internet and the Eufy seems to be the winner in all the reviews I've read/watched for that feature.

I went for the Eufey (older version, single camera) and have not been happy about the very poor batter life, it claims 180 days, I have it not on the very basic settings but not far off of that yet I'm lucky to get 20 days out of it. If you check others who have reviewed it they all say the same, the battery life is no where close to what they claim. For that rewason I won;t be replacing mine with another Eufey even though this dual camera one looks really good!

I have the 2k Battery from Eufy, and I cannot do much of anything in Google with it. It can only load video on the hubs. You cannot even use google speakers as door chimes. So it would seem, maybe they are finally adding features to this newer camera to "force" people to buy them?

I automate porch light switch (Kasa) from ring doorbell.

I think the response speed is slow because it's a battery powered unit. Hooking it up to the wiring just trickle charges the battery, but it still functions as a battery powered device and that means slow response time. I personally would stick with the Nest device even with some of the other features being better on the Eufy because functioning quickly as a doorbell is crucial.

I wish this camera had RTSP support for Blue Iris/Frigate.
