this is a perfect review of the film. this film without vikram is a shit. Shankar, ARR, PC sriram and vikram gone to a extent to entertain a simple revenge story with medic terms. A one time watchable for normal audience. And because of its visuals, it is a one time watchable for world audience.

Personally I feel that we can give a good review only after watching the film number of times and giving attention to every detail or you have to be a very sharp person to grasp all the things from all point of view in one show. We don't want a quick review but a review which should contain the things which an ordinary audience cannot think or feel.

Prasanth. Really I never expected a review like this from you. I have been following your channel for a very long time now. But never felt like commenting on any because most of them where true and straight forward. Now when I see this review I really doubt whether you have seen the movie or not. Sure there must be going on something behind the stage! (remember the teaser leak scam?) They really did a very hard work on Vikram and his make up. Other than that nothing stood out! (and the first half was completely GAY) When I was watching in the theater many audience could guess whats really gonna happen. And it was all predictable. There is nothing special about this movie except Vikram, his make up and PC sir.

I too came to unlike this video, Lump ah kaasu vaangirukaan Prashanth to talk like this!! I went to watch this movie only because of this review, but trust me, movie doesn't match to this guy's hype, movie is not bad but at the same time not too good also, if Santhanam was not there, movie would have been a flop, nothing special, just same old story with little editing and visual effects, definitely not suitable for family audience, just go with your friends to enjoy Santhanam's comedy. Fight scenes and all too boring. But sathiyama solraen, stop doing reviews Prashanth, don't mislead people.

i am a malayali and i do like realistic and quality films.i watched the movie when i was young and in my memory i really liked it..i just watched the movie without great expectation and not comparing it with western movies.i love vikram and i do like to enjoy over the top action sometimes too and there's nothing wrong with liking physics defying scenes and the story and message was also great..i love tamil songs ,the language is beautiful and the songs were the best.

Honestly, I don't take this as a review. This seems to me like more of a comment from a fan perspective. Story lacks the strong key knot. Screen play drags at many points. No strong villain characters though there are a bunch of villains. Dialogs - We miss Sujatha. Editing - they tried some chronology but people in theatre got confused in few sequences. Vikram - Great effort. Direction - We expected more from Shankar coz of previous movies like Anniyan, Sivaji etc.. China (location), Fights, Music and all other things are support tools which are additives to boost the movie. They are not considered as the movie. My ratings would be 3.5/5.

Prashanth. I respect your reviews & your opinions. But honestly, you have exaggerated many plots in the movie. PS : First of all, I'm a hardcore fan of Vikram. I consider his dedication & commitment on the shelves of our Ulaganayagan. Vikram is a man who can never be trolled on any social media. He is a man who is loved and admired by fans of Thalaivar, Ulaganayagan, Thala, Thalapathy and has no haters. 1) The only reason to watch this movie is CHIYYAAN VIKRAM -aka - Dedication. He is a man like Rahul Dravid. He does everything to make ppl happy & expects nothing in return. He will walk on broken glass pieces if the director wants him to or if the scripts demand. 2) Shankar - He has completely wasted all the efforts of Chiyyaan. The physic chiyyaan went through was not justified even a bit. This script doesn't demand so much of transition. Dialogues were too bad. Shankar's screenplay and stunt direction was worse. 3)ARR - Oscar naayagan : His BGM in few places were not as expected. Especially, the scene where Vikram will fight the guys on a cycle was too hilarious. Yet, it is Rahman and he will always mesmerize you in other places but not to the fullest. 4)PC Sreeram has done what he is best at. I give him 10/10. 5) Vikram has given up everything he had for this movie. People see only the physical pressure he has gone through. I wonder how much of mental pressure he would have sustained to get to such a figure. Terrific efforts. #RespectVikram The biggest mistake Shankar has did - Wasting Chiyyan's efforts & time. Vikram has carried the movie on his shoulders. He completes tamil cinema. Director Bala would have handled chiyyan 100 times better for these 2 years, if he would have directed. I have seen this film today with my family and my friend in Qatar. We didn't get ticket for Tamil version. We got Hindi Version only. I have been informed about this film from my friends and relatives for this film in negative way but after seeing this film, I have realised how they said like this. .....Every body said whoever came with me ....it is a fantastic film.

Good review :) even though * it is biased ... I was lucky enough to watch the movie yesterday in theater here in Ottawa-Canada. All I can say it, the $13.00 I paid for the ticket was worth every penny. At least for me, I enjoyed the movie thoroughly. But this movie is no family friendly (the transgender char/lip-lock/some costumes/violent scenes - too many). Things that worked for me: Awesome Visuals + Music (+bg) + Amy + Vikram ( 3 roles he has done in this movie, i can expect him to fetch a National Award) ... Things that did not work for me: in first and second half - there were some dull moments which kind of killed the pace of the movie .... over all .... Shankar sir, you rock and have again came up with a movie that would "wow" everyone around the world ... Simple story told in "grandeur" way ...

Last evening I watched the movie. Story/Writing is bad. The writers' novels sell in Tamilnadu in petty shops and people buy, read and throw it away halfway through, most of the times. Shankar takes one such novel and spends more than 150 crores on it? Unimaginable! The movie is yucky in first half with power star sequence et al. The transgender stylist idea was a blunder and it was terrible/horrible/horrid in the movie. We go to Shankar movies for splendour. In no words, this movie is magnificent. Just the opposite! Just yesterday, prior to watching the movie, I was supporting the film in several forums saying, “I a 'Magnum Opus' to be celebrated for a few days (weeks) before anyone can sit down to write a review.” I retract. The movie 'I' itself will retract from the theatres very soon. Please save your money for the next Shankar movie, if finally the director realizes ‘A movie is as good as its writers’. Lets wait a couple of years and support him again.

And the wrong pronunciation of 'zha' (which comes out as 'La') should be avoided, and it needs practice. You did a beautiful review for PK and same way you described this movie, you should have requested openly to Shankar or producers to make a clean and simple movie. Dont waste money in making a movie like this!

I really don't understand the criticism that this movie has been receiving from some outlets. They're complaining about the story, but this movie probably had one of the most COHERENT storylines throughout the ENTIRE movie. In most big-budget tamil movies there is 2 hours of "comedy & masala" and then 1 hour of someone saving an entire village or city(you get my point). I'm fine with that, but i'm SO happy that we finally get to see a blockbuster tamil film that doesn't just rely on the "comeyd&masala" portion and instead focuses on making the story a kind of EPIC so that the entire story wraps up greatly. The truth is that what "I" was lacking was is in the amount of masala&comedy. It did have some portions of it, but not in the entity that we usually see in big-budget tamil movies. But isn't time we start to appreciate this? So that we keep getting films like "I" where alot of focus actually has been put into making the story "make sense". In my personal opinion, the only thing I think they could have changed, was maybe to cut off one of the villain charachters(don't want to say who so that I spoil the movie for those who haven't seen it yet). If they took out one of the villains, they could have filled that with more Santhanam&Vikram scenes(which probably would have appealed to the mainstream tamil audience). At the end of the day, Shankar has taken a huge risk with this movie, by skipping alot of the elements that are safe to use in tamil cinema. Instead he has created a movie that should be seen as an EPIC. The entire storyline is an EPIC from start to beginning. Rather than a simple storyline of a "hero fighting an injustice" this is something new. If anything he deserves PRAISE that he took this road, considering the amount of money they've spent on the movie. I really really hope this movie succeeds in the box office. I loved it, and I hope this movie opens the bridge for more kind of blockbuster tamil films of this genre.

I have seen few other movie reviews Prasanth, but with this one I agree 100%. Nobody could have done this movie except Vikram even in the whole India. Nobody would come forward to do a role that would potentially harm their health and yet Vikram done it successfully. No actor/actress would give this long of a call sheet to a movie in their career because of losing income from other movie opportunities. Shankar makes sure any ordinary viewer would understands all the things going in his movie. Quickly going back and forth between past and present would have confused an audience if it was another director. For example Kamal Hasan usually confuses in his thriller stories that he sometimes used to write in magazines or even in few of his movies. The movie keeps you on the edge for the whole 3 hours.

I watch this movie with family coz of your review , but I m very disappoint your (4.25)review! This movie not Shankar standard , vikram, santham acting, ARR music excellent.

I totally agree with u prashanth, but one matter of fact is that, majority of our audience are general audience , who just wants entertainment and worth for money, they dont receive well this kind of 'amazing content" commercial movie, as u said the team of this movie is fantastic, hatts off to p.c sir and vikram, especially 3rd fight BGM is outstanding.

#I is a mass commercial entertainer ! I am commenting after watching the movie and the negative comments given by fellow viewers. I was thoroughly enjoying the whole movie, not only me, everyone in the theater enjoyed! Yes ofcourse there are bikini scenes and a partial lip lock and that's why the movie is rated U\A. Over all I never felt a single scene boring! I never knew the movie was 3 hours! And the bgm was brilliant! No words about cinematography! Such a lovely treat to watch every scene! Mass movie!

you said all waited till the title ends the movie, sorry to say that was not the reason, you could have watch every one standing and almost they moved out of the screen, but there was something missing at the end, all the people stand and watched that, otherwise every one have moved out very earlier itself. Plus of the movie :- - Vikram himself - A.R Rahman Songs, BGM wow fantastic to the next level - Camera and Locations - Heroine action Minus of the movie:- - Makeup not executed well, its like puppet show - Shankar lost his touch and style of handling screenplay - Unwanted swimming suit scene for heroine, to carry "Merisallaiten" song - Beast makeup was wasted just for a song, we expected something else (a story behind that character) - Ladio song was very good to hear, but was not handled visually (the overall punch was not there on visuals for this song) - Interval block was a utter waste making a transgender cry, which was not natural. Overall i could not understand why people loose their quality once they started earning more money in life. Shankars initial movies was outstanding, but now with the technology inventions, he has just became the band for cinema industry rather an effective director. Debut directors are extremely doing well without more production cost, but these branded directors just come in and make their show run by plucking out these debut directors movies.
