Thani Oruvan-- One of the best movie in tamil industry of all time. Arvind swamy has nailed the character.. best villain in 2015 . Hiphop tamizha has done a great job BGM is really good.. each n every person has done there job... Must watch movie.. no doubt 4.5/5.. Perfect Movie without any complaints.

I watched Thani Oruvan today. Such an awesome movie it is. I've not seen much commercial movies this interesting. As you said, we could see the maturity in the script and story. Hat's off! Looking ahead for more such crafted commercial movies in tamil. This could increase the value of Tamil movies way ahead in time. You have done a great review.

Summa nachchunu sonnenga sir. Naan atha Inga experience pannen. Intha padathuku vanthuruntha oru Delhi youth, avaruku Tamil varaathu but Tamil padam na oru craze. I agree that such movies need to be supported instead of the brain-dead stuff that we mostly see in theatres. I think the review was little too positive rather than taking neutral stand. I personally felt that the first half was brilliant and the interval arrived with a BIG BANG. However, the second half for me just went downhill with just one plot point (the bug placed in Ravi's body) being stretched all the way, losing focus of the main plot of generics etc. Also, dream song in a thriller, that too with lip sync! Strict no-no for a thriller! Things started looking very filmy and convenient (SD Card inside a bamboo stick, replacing brown folder with another one of the exact size and shape, etc.) This took away from the enjoyment that I experienced in the first half and after a point I didn't care about what was happening on the screen. The story should have had some more aces up its sleeve but didn't. BGM was awesome, cinematography was great, editing was good (except last 30 minutes), Jayam Ravi was awesome. Arvind Swamy was good eye-candy but didn't come across as terrifying, because the character didn't have much depth or backstory. The climax didn't make much sense because I don't think Arvind Swamy's character/attitude was so timid that he would be ready to give up his life. He was shown to be a fighter, thinker and not someone who gives up easily.Some movies have a great first half (like this one), some have great second halfs (like Ko), and some have sustained momentum in both halves (like Sathuranga Vettai, Thegidi, Singam 2, Pizza 2).....exciting times for Tamil Cinema.

The first film when I feeled for antoganist's defeat

I watched the movie, a psychological war between jayam Ravi(Mithran) and Arvind swamy(Siddarth abimanyu) is awesome and storyline is good, but could have given a mass entry for Arvind swamy and could have ended with a social message.
