@@jacee.w Yeah that's pretty much what happened to me. I watched a lot of English cartoons when I was young, so I picked up and learned the language from that. But when it comes to Filipino, I wasn't exposed to too much of it on TV, so yeah, I'm still struggling.

I had to do a family tree for science once and I barely had any names. My dad has 6 siblings and there’s no “reunions”, I meet like a few at a time. Since I’m Chinese we don’t do names, it’s not “Cousin John” or “John” it’s just “Cousin”. Same with “Aunt” or “Uncle” or “Cousin” for some distant relative on my mom’s side that we don’t know what to call relation-wise so he’s Cousin, which I ironically know better than some of my actual cousins.

Isabee42 hey when you have enough family far away they can still be your relatives and you not know a thing about them. My dad’s side of the family is spread all across the U.S. and every once in awhile we’ll have a reunion and everyone will go to one place and I’ll show up and be like “wHo aRe yOu PeOplE!?!?”

yeah i kinda get how he feels. when i go to visit my japanese family, i try to speak japanese for them and they try to speak english for me but my japanese isn't great so when i try to communicate, i get really awkward but i just try to act like myself.

@@moth8775 his korean family doesn't live in america. Mark and his mom live in America. his cousins and extended family live in south korea. They just speak english as a second language because most people in other countries learn some form of basic english.
