In this episode I pour a large 7x15 ft slab of concrete over existing pavers and concrete. Do it yourself you can save $$$ by following these simple steps and tricks. As well as getting a perfect professional finish. No need to have helpers, or hire anyone. To make it easier I divided the pour into 3 separate pours allowing me to focus on one section at a time without being rushed to finish it before it drys. This takes the stress out of pouring large slabs and being rushed before concrete sets up.

I recommend start with small slabs first get some practice with it. You will get better every time. Follow the fundamentals. I watched and hired pros for several years as well to see how they finish concrete.

do not caught up having second thoughts about quality doing it yourself. concentrate on thousands saved and enjoy the pride from that.

Yes its important to get work done right the first time. Its good to practice on smaller slabs if you are a beginner. I have done quite a bit of concrete work so I know it will be top notch quality everytime I do it.

Was looking for 32’x30’ slap was told is $6+ / SF, so I did the forms paid cash for concrete trucks found someone on Craigslist had quick meeting on said paid him $2000 cash following week 6 guys showed up everything went prefect saved $3k

Yes manually. It's easy if you have 60lb bags. It goes pretty quick once you get your mixing technique down.

Yes I used 2x4 but had to rip them down to the proper height.

How well has that pour held up cracking wise & what kinda weight does it hold?

Its doing just fine, no problems. Be sure that what ever you are pouring concrete over is solid, compacted base underneath. This is very important. The pavers were there for 30 years so any settling has occurred in that time. It should not crack since the spa is equally distributed weight on it.
