Zangief is a treasure. Raul Julia is definitely MVP, but Zangief had a STRONG second place showing for comedy in that film. His ridiculous timing on his humor was divine. Love Zangief in this

The greatest thing about this is Raul Julia for sure. But I always give it bonus points for the casting. The actor who played T. Hawk is Gregg Rainwater, who is actually part Native American, and the dude who played Vega is Jay Tavare who is part Native American, part Spanish. The dude is 50 years old and is still shredded. Kenya Sawada did try out for Ryu, turns out, they liked him so much that made a character for him in the movie, and even kept his name. This movie is beautiful.

one of my favorite jokes was Zangief's sideways thumbs up. The entire movie I'm like, "what is he doing?" and then when Van Dam meets him at the end, he straightens the thumbs up, Gief is all " =o ! " I was dying!

When I first saw this film in the 90s, I was thinking "Ryu has Ken's hair style and Ken has Ryu's hair style".

Dude, I had such a huge crush on Kylie Minogue in this movie, I literally had my parents buy me a copy of this movie for her. I never even owned any of the Street Fighter games, it was just a fighting game at the arcade to me. Mortal Kombat was my bread and butter, but man, as a child I simped for Cammy. Lol

While it's true that Street Fighter gained a cult following over time, there were plenty of us who have loved it for as bad as it is from the first time we saw it in the theater. This film.. is nuts. Last time I saw this, was on VHS as well. I did watch in theatres. That was a wild experience. Feels like forever ago. Kylie Minouge as Cammy, and Ming Na Wen as Chun Li. Excellent casting. But dang Raul Julia as Bison.. just too dang awesome for words (we lost him too soon) Double Dragon next.. oh this is going to be fun. 😅

The story was, that Raul Julia, given a script that offered no real backstory for his character, came up with a backstory on his own to provide motivation for his acting. If memory serves, he came up with the idea that in Bison was the sun of a major South American drug lord who is raised in European military academies. That's how great an actor and what a consummate professional he was. Even when making a Bee movie for his kid, he still did everything he could to give the best performance possible

I liked it as a kid and as time has gone on it to me has stayed great. This and the first MK movie are just awesome. Also lets take a min to appreciate that they didnt make Kylie take her pants off to wear the game costume. It was the 90s and its just shocking that they held back. This movie was smarter than I think it gets credit for.

This is probably the best of the "let's capitalize on a franchise but get everything completely wrong" line of video game adaptations. It's so ridiculous and ham it's a joy to watch. And, obviously, Raul Julia absolutely owns this movie, chews up the stage every second he's on screen.

I love SF the movie. I remember when it came out, I remember the toys, I remember finally getting to see it on VHS and loving it. I watched this movie with a bunch of other fighting game fans years ago and we riffed on it the entire time. The scene where T. Hawk and company chase Chun Li down the hall and she leaps out the window to escape, my friend Chloe yelled, "Just Condor Dive after her ass!"
