“Gly”: Even though I do respect this man’s passion, this individual does not accurately represent responsible abandoned mine explorers. What we call "Denim Hunters" are the scourge of abandoned mines and some, but not all, have been known to destroy mine features while searching for and removing artifacts. Abandoned mine artifacts, both above and underground on public lands, are protected by the Antiquities Act. Also, this individual's comment regarding deaths relating to abandoned mines is greatly exaggerated. Those who are reading this comment, especially those who are new to the abandoned mine exploring genre, please do not look up to this individual as someone who represents the abandoned mine exploring community.

I deal with abandoned mines for work. I got into it via mine exploring. We do site investigations and making features safe. I live in one of the most heavily mined areas on the planet and I've been in hundreds of mines. We open covered shafts and abseil down them. I've nearly died on several occasions. It is very very dangerous. False floors, bad air, falling stuff, etc. This man is a fool, he's also running around the places with no respect for his surroundings, or the hazards they pose. He will probably end up killing himself.

@Zatarah Bouchard I thought they got the washed look, the dirty look, and the ripped holes look, from the people that wear the jeans while doing physical labor, wearing the jeans down those ways naturally. Like I wear mine down. I used to bail hay on the farm and my Levi's would wear out down to white thread from my upper thigh to the knees from using my legs to boost the bail up to stack it on the hay rack. I don't have the upper body strength to do it with my arms only, so I compensated by using my legs to knee the bail up Who would pay $11,000 for a pair of falling apart denim jeans? And why? Talk about disposable income. I am below the lowest poverty level. Even if I were wealthy, I don't think I could spend that amount on one single pair of jeans. Unless it was as an investment that gained in value each year. Or to flip them for more than I paid. Or, to copy the design and mass produce reproductions. As you said already. But I don't see that original design out there. They must modify it a bit.
