That was SICK. Even if the 6.0 didn't beat the 6.7, the exhaust note and sound makes everyone smile more. 5 seconds flat was pretty impressive. And I thought something was going to break after seeing you at the automotive shop scared to go past half throttle. If the trans or heads blow, it will only make it more powerful and produce more content after throwing money in it.

Fun stuff, bro! 6.0’s are pretty tough if you take care of them. Most headgasket issues are from poor maintenance or bad shops. Also lots of engines are not studded properly and/or the head work is jacked up.

I don't know if my other comment was posted but it is not $2K to fix. You can buy a brand new one for max of $600 and all you have to do is tell them your trucks mileage. I can’t remember the people I bought mine from but if you do some research you can find some extremely good companies that sell them out there or just buy a new blank one and have someone program the milage in for you

We used to race 6.0L's. My good friend I raced with had the fastest stock suspension 6.0 in the country. It was called Icemonkey. A few quick tips: let your truck idle and cool the trans after those hard pulls. 5R110W transmissions like to loose direct drive clutches in 3rd gear. Keep the trans cool to extend their life. Clean your exhaust back pressure (EBP) sensor on the top of the drivers side exhaust manifold. Next change your oil often with that big of injectors. You will actually cross contaminate your engine oil with diesel fuel if you don't change your oil enough.

For the intercooler boots, you gotta clean the tubes & boots w\ brakeclean\acetone real well so no oil residue on them & then spray hairspray on the pipes, put boots back on and theyll be stuck from the aquanet hairspray. 👍🏻👌🏻

the headgasket issue was exagerated by the oil cooler and egr issues. Once the oil cooler pugged off, which many brand new ones did due to the sand in the blocks from casting then the egr coolant would boil, crack it, the high oil temps eat oirings and headgaskets. If you just monitor the oil temp they are so much more reliable

Get oem hoses and new clamps They hold over 50lbs of boost but if you have ever over torqued them the pipes get distorted or egg shaped and need replaced.

My dad has the first year early 2003 6.0 f350. 20k into just the motor/turbo, and a 6k ats stage 3 trans. 3.8 second pulls in 4x4 on a gravel road, telephone pole to telephone pole.

When you put the boot back on, spray some hair spray on it and then slip it on. Let that dry and you'll be good to go.

Permatex red high tack for gastekts in the spray can will fix thise boots once and for all. Clean thenl surface good woth anrag and brake cleaner, get the boot and pipe clean. Youll blow the boot in half literally before it come undone again. A 90 degree pick removes it easily when it needs to come apart. Brake clean removes it super easy. Please be safe out there. That truck looks pretty quick. They are tougher than most think because they read garbage off the Internet. I work on these for a living, have done so for over 15 years now. I guess I better stock up on actual OEM good parts, cause the 6.0 is making a come back. This video aint gonna help! Some key parts are hard to get though, and fomoco parts from the dealer and in fact being made in china(standpipes/dummyplugs/oil cooler/various gaskets and more). Just some knowledge for the readers. They are fun when turned up on big sticks. I have 197k on mine with big tunes, never ince a single problem yet. Egr cooler delete and rigorous maintenance is key. Enjoy that thing and be safe! Looking forward to future 6.0 content.

As fun as this is I wouldn’t suggest doing this in traffic every time. Go into an abandoned lot somewhere. Love the channel but not only is this annoying to the community you live in but it’s dangerous to the families that live around you. I have a heavily modded 04 King Ranch and I never do this in town. Sure it’s fun to goose people at red lights every now and then but when you’re testing your 0-60 in traffic it’s just kinda foolish. Again, love the channel but don’t but so goofy with the truck.
