Usually I'd just cut the bad spots out of the deer meat, but those are big wounds, and that whole front right leg quarter is definitely no good, I HATE wasting deer meat but I'd probably pass on him, too much infection. This deer medically needed taken out.

That’s kinda how these animals are though. My buck last year went totally stiff as soon as I’d finished gutting him. It was only around 45 minutes

@@sergeantkermit8235 if you’re referring to my instance then I’d have to disagree, all my deer have been super stiff before I’ve even gotten the animal back to the truck. And from what I’ve seen with other animals I’ve hunted too, it just happens quicker than most people expect.

The zombie deer virus is so weird it leaves holes in their brains and they can still walk around for a week. They rot on the inside out pretty much. Look up videos its worse when the deer is a mum to babies and they are infected. Since they got holes in their brains they lose almost everything they know to live where to get water stay away from danger..like this deer in the video he was hit by something and was still walking around rotting away. Scary

Well yeah you Can shoot the deer by the neck and even if you dont hit the neck spine(idk the english Word) you still tear a lot of veins killing it but you still have to be precise when going for a lung heart shot because you don’t have a lot to aim at ( but big respect to bow hunters they are awesome and very professional when it comes to hunting)

We got one this year that was hit like that too. This one was way more severe. Ours only clipped the meat of the neck then ran a stripe all the way down the side. Saved everything but the neck

I agree. I shot a doe once with a rage broadhead. Thought it was a bad hit but it wasn't. Let it go until the next day. Found it was a good hit. The deer before dying was licking at the wound and opened it up. The entrance hole was huge and looked very similar to this.
