I SHOULD HAVE WON £££££!!! - FEEDER FISHING AFTER THE FLOODS - LARFORD LAKES - ROB WOOTTON.
Righting the wrongs of a bad day on the bank. My latest match was the Golden Rod final at larford lakes where there was £10,000 up for grabs to the winning angler! My approach on day two was totally wrong so I re-visit Larford to try a different approach and one that would definitely had seen me walk away with some big money.

Hi Rob, I don't know wether you ever watch other people's videos but coincidentally Jon Arthur put out his video today and from what I can gather he was fishing the same match but on the opposite bank to you and he fished very similar tactics but used corn, maggots and pellets in the method fishing at 16m and 8m (I think) as you probably already know he qualified with just over 20lb, I nearly mention it to you as a confirmation with regards your train of thought. Always enjoy the videos and I always learn a lot, keep them coming. If I've got any of that information wrong apologies in advance.

Yeah I know Jon well. His video was from the week previous’ match and he did well that day. More carp had shown the week previous to my match which changed my plans but those bream were certainly more important than i thought 👍

@@RobWootton thanks for replying Rob I really appreciate that you've taken the the time to do so, I'm 59 and I haven't matched fished since my early 20s and although i don't match fish anymore i still follow the match results I'm not to old to learn and if it wasn't for people like yourself and other youtubers who were not will to pass on your tips and secrets I would still be stuck in the 80s. All the best for the next match Rob.

Hindsight really is a wonderful thing I've lost count of doing exactly as you did make a plan, get your bait reach the bank and bam everything goes out of the window we should learn but it takes great discipline and confidence to go against your gut feeling and go ahead with your plan, sometimes it works but not enough times to justify rash actions, but we aren't perfect and entitled to a mistake or two and it nice of you to be honest and share with us 👍👍👍👍

Good video. Had that peg in the Super League, plumb last in section! Feel better now I've seen this video, I too tried for Carp for far too long. Lad on my right snared a 16lb fish with 30 seconds to go, from last in section to about 4th in section... Lack of experience/knowledge/practise on my part - must try harder.

The thing is as time goes by you start to get more desperate to catch a carp to cover the time you spent fishing for them lol. Coming off the carp becomes more and more difficult to do. Never forget your silvers as the old saying goes. If it fished like that for the full five hours you might have caught over a 100lb of bream. I cant understand why if you had this knowledge that there are bream like that in there you would have fished at all for carp especially during the winter months. I should be your manager Rob - here it is - If you have to make a plan then you don't know the lake. If you don't know the lake your always at a disadvantage. Those that know the lake don't need to make a plan - they fish according to the demands (weather and peg) of the lake....! All I get from your video which I enjoyed immensely - is that you don't know the lake very well. Those that win KNOW - those that don't know CHASE...!

Ha ha . Nice one Julien, I’m not sure about 100lb but deffo 20lb in match conditions. I like to think I know Larford pretty well, especially the speci lake but with changing weather and also the recent floods the venue is very unpredictable at the minute. Hard for anyone to second guess the venue when it’s like that. I can wait to try there again in the summer🎣

How can you learn to be better in making the wright decisions. If you had taken the decision to fish for skimmers and someone had caught two big carp then it would be otherwise. There are always guys who are experts in taking the wright decisions at the wright time and i'm not one of them!

hi Rob - what actually stopped you from making the change at the weekend? it seem from what you are saying that it was a fairly obvious option to try.
@RobWootton
@RobWootton 4 жыл бұрын
I took the gamble and for that one bite I needed to put the time in for a carp. Also as the day wears on it’s a better time for a carp so changing late on would have seen me miss the best time for a big fish. Sometimes you have to gamble, especially in big individual matches. 👍

Nice Video.. If a bream is over a pound it is a bream..A skimmer is up to a pound. You cant skim 3 pound bream.. There is a lot of confusion about this. Also, If its under 2 ounces its a bottle top..
@RobWootton
@RobWootton 4 жыл бұрын
It depends on the venue I’d say - in a natural venue.up north a bream is anything over 2lb plus but on a commercial down south a 4lber is sometimes called a skimmer 😀🤯
