I Should of Never Drove In - WORSE DAY OF MY HGV TRUCK DRIVING CARRER

Trucking UK

Жыл бұрын

In this video, I share my worst day of my life at a building site - trucking UK. I was reversing a HGV truck when it suddenly became dislodged from the trailer, crashing into the back of the truck in front of me. I was hospitalized with a broken back and two broken legs.
This video is a warning to all truckers: never try reversing a HGV truck without proper training and experience. It's one of the most dangerous things you can do on the road. If you ever find yourself in a situation like this, please don't hesitate to call a tow truck!
In this video, I'm sharing the story of one of the worst days of my life. It was the day I had to reverse a HGV truck at a building site.
Although I had been training for the day, it was still the worst day of my life. I'll describe the process of reversing the truck, the problems I encountered, and the lessons I learned. If you're ever involved in a similar situation, be prepared for the consequences!
In this video, I was reversing a HGV truck on a building site and it was the worst day of my life. Watch as I narrowly avoid disaster and learn some valuable trucking UK safety tips in the process.
If you're thinking of doing a career in trucking, then this video is a must-watch. In it, I share the story of my worst day at a building site and how I narrowly avoided disaster. I cover everything from the basics of reversing a HGV truck to important safety tips for building site workers. By the end of the video, you'll have everything you need to know to avoid making the same mistakes I did!

As someone who drive into construction sites all day (tipping) with 56 ton total, same lenght - all I can say is, learn to say no. "Sorry mate, I ain't going no further if I've got to reverse out" They can either accept that or cancel the load. Not your problem. love the videos.

This is the best advice, I’ve been doing this for 8 years now and my father did it for 30 years. My old man always said this to me as a new driver. At the end of the day your in charge of your vehicle as a driver and you make your own decisions. I’ve never had any complaints from sites or transport managers, infact a good transport manager will agree. Sometimes site workers are the laziest individuals and will get you as close as they can, so they don’t have to do much. Whilst you have to manoeuvre a 200k lorry, risk damaging or even risking lives, which your responsible for.. but at the end of day they can easily unload you somewhere safe to get in and out of, it might take longer or get a few sarcastic comments or get called a few names by some of the workers but it’s not worth the risk.

Outstanding reversing. Let's face it, regardless where you go in the country, you're not going to get worse than that. I'd have refused to go round that last bend, it would have been getting tipped on the straight part. I anticipate they were being a little selfish and lazy here. Well done to you though, excellent.

Was entertaining viewing. Great skills with the truck. Got me thinking about the countless times I've been sent to load or unload my B Double in near impossible scenarios. Made much simpler by splitting the trailers, but not nearly as KZfaq worthy viewing. And in almost the exact same situation you found yourself in this video, where rubble and crap creep infringes on what was already a challenging drive to the unload location, I stop as soon as I am off the road in their driveway, call for the foreman and simply ask that he gets the forklift to where I am, rather than me drive to where the forklift is. But if the forklift made the simple drive to where you came in and unloaded you there, I'm guessing your WORSE DAY OF MY HGV DRIVING CAREER video would have been a snooze fest. But still: With all of your experience, I can't figure out why you keep driving in and risk damage to your truck and other property rather than get unloaded at the entrance?
