Yep, very important lesson for everyone. In fact there are two things, that make this stand out for me. 1. Just don't ride it if you don't feel it. 2. Never ever push anyone to do it. Show how it's done, explain, give every piece of advice you can give but never say "come on, just ride it". For me both of them doing the right thing is more impressive than if they would have just sent it.

@@marklopez5267 not as a dad, not on a feature of such size. Last christmas (haha) I rode a rather small, but badly built wooden drop even though I was tired already and on my new bike that I wasn't used to yet. Thought it would be fine since it's not a big feature. A broken Fullface helmet and a trip to the hospital for x-ray check told me I was wrong. Though apparently nothing was broken I sometimes feel sore in my neck. Conclusion: If you don't feel it, don't do it. Be smart and ride again the next day.

You know what’s worse than Yoann not sending this? Sending it for the likes of all us viewers and getting seriously f**ked up. I absolutely loved this video. It shows that the two of you aren’t just nailing the gnarliest lines the first try. I may never do a line like this but this helped me think through my own progression. Merci Beaucoup!

The way you can shut it down after that drop within like 20ft is just as cool as the drop itself. Also maintaining control in technical terrain when you land after being in the air.

It’s humbling to know that extremely talented riders like you and Yoann show that there is a method to finding the line and it’s not just “send it”. Despite you making it look easy haha. Also, making it ok to walk away from a drop if you’re really not feeling it is super important for all riders. Keep up the great work!

They're so useful these videos where you demonstrate just how much care, thought and attention to detail you need to ride well. No big egos, no willy waving, no clips from hours apart strung together to look like one run. They're excellent in terms of how to help people progress, and I suspect that seeing pros comfortable saying they're not feeling it will also save people from a quite a lot of unwanted injuries.

Of all the features you have ridden in Squamish I think that this drop in Gouranga (at the 8:15 mark) is the most difficult and some of the highest consequences (probably I am wrong but it sure looks that way in real life). This is absolutely the best riding video I've watched on YT! Whether deliberate or not it is the best Riding Psychology analysis i have ever witnessed. Everyone who rides gnarly features has experienced these back and forth conversations at some point trying to build up the confidence to send it. This is genuinely a video that every rider at every level of ability can relate to. To see pro riders experiencing this level of doubt just makes us all feel a little more human and adds to the comedy value. Some days we send it, some days we abort, but the comedy value of convincing ourselves that we are going to send it even though deep down everyone knows we're not is priceless!!

So good you guys! The build up is intense, the desire to do it is intense.... this kind of decision is something that is very difficult to teach, but you captured it so well.... Now the trick is how to teach that maturity in decision making to 10 year olds! Great video Remy & Yohan. Much respect!

Very helpful thank you! It’s good to see even pro’s have fear and they back down from things sometimes and it’s okay

Love watching the process of evaluating the line. Super important work you guys are doing. Newer riders especially need to understand the skills you guys have are earned and don't guarantee success without preparation. Gotta use your head.
