holland is the name of 2 provinces, North and South holland. we Dutchies say Nederland translated in english it is The Netherlands . neder means low/lower and land is land

That’s true. But you should add Holland also is the common denomination for the Dutch national football team. When you say “ik ga vanavond naar Holland kijken” most people will immediately understand that you are going to watch a football game of the Netherlands. There is no other sport in which we refer to the national team as Holland. And I would even argue that when we say Holland we specifically talk about the men’s football team. Even though when we cheer for the women it is also done with “Holland! clap clap clap”

@@randolf84 ah. Dat is in mijn omgeving, met veel mensen die het Nederlands elftal ook daadwerkelijk in het stadion gaan kijken, toch echt anders. Maar dat kan natuurlijk. Misschien zit ik wel in een Holland bubbel.

where I live is only 120 kilometers to Dortmund, which is less than one hour drive for me.. There where 110,000 Dutch people in the march..

We yell at the station “Holland” . Our King is named Willem-Alexander van Oranje. And much more royal names we never use. But Orange is the favorite color to party. “ Ollekebollekes “ has been written by a man, who didn’t agree that after his marriage his wife only sat on the sofas, or laid down on chairs. She didn’t dance anymore, so he made for carnival a protest song. Singing and dancing from right ( five steps) to left ( five steps). And jumping and drinking beer.

A lot of tourists just go to just two provinces North and South Holland where the 3 biggest cities are like Amsterdam, Rotterdam and The Hague. So over time many foreigners called our country Holland when in fact called the Netherlands. So onoficially the most Dutch people don't mind if you use Holland but know there are some who are bothered by it. So it's best to use the proper name if you speak about the whole country what's the Netherlands.

Can you make a video in where you react to the wrongfully given penalty, and the complete crazy choise to put this referee on a match like England- Netherlands? I yearn for that and I think I am not the only one on your beautifull channel. I think it would be good for all your fans. I understand you don't want too much drama on your channel but fair is fair. We got sc**w*d a lot during the European Championship. Also in the France- Netherlands game we were just f**k*d. Not fair, not nice, but like good teachers are supposed to do, keep your pupils calm and keep them enthousiastic. And as I know you are a good teacher, you could do a video about that. This match was sold to the 2 biggest competitions of Europe . The German Referee was convicted for matchfixing and let England win . The referee Felix and var bastian make the UEFA very happy . Pff traitor! 😂😜 Im hoping we win, but we always have the misfortune that the "good" players play better against us, so im hoping we win, but kind of expecting the English to get their game together and play a lot better against us.
