I Sold My Harley For THIS?! - BMW R1250GS Adventure Motorcycle

OKAY! Before you shoot the messenger, remember this is COMPLETELY my opinion. I really like both bike types, but my preference has shifted. It's a completely different style of riding and crowd. Harley Davidson is not near as popular here in Europe, but it's got a massive following worldwide.
Harley is doing something right for sure, but I much prefer the R1250GS to the cruiser-style bikes. I used to be a hardcore Harley fan until I saw the BMW ADV bikes.
Would I jump on a Harley for a few days ride? Heck yes! Would I own one as an everyday driver? Not right now. The ADV market has my heart and I don't see myself giving it to another.

After 20 years of Harley riding, I traded the Street Glide Special for a used 1st generation Triumph 1200 Tiger. Three months later I gave it to my son and got a new 1250 GS TE Triple black. In 50 years of riding, I can say the GS is by far the best 'do it all machine'......a little bit too much technology for me - but just because it's there, you don't have to use it. Great videos - keep 'em coming.

I 100% agree with you. Man we followed almost the same pattern. I went from Harley to Triumph Tiger, then to the 1250 GS. Crazy! What’s your favorite trip you have done on the bike? Thank you for the encouragement. I love this community

I have a 2015 Roadglide and have never had the issues you are talking about but would love a tiger 1200 gt explorer!

I have a 21 Harley ultra and me and my wife ride a lot on it and also my kids to. Always wanted to go for a adventure bike but I don’t think passengers would be comfortable

It really depends. My wife loves riding on the back of my GS. The suspension is awesome. She does sit quite high but she loves it. I would love to hear a comparison from a passengers point of view.

I'm recently on a 2020 R1250 GS Exclusive , from a Superlow Sportster... and most recently a Street Glide Special... I wouldn't have another Harley

I saw the review you did on the Lomo panniers so I got the medium sized panniers for my 2013 GS . You'll have a great time with your GS . The Boxer engine and Telelever front end , for me ,is brilliant . .I am just a road rider and never go off road .

So awesome man! I hope you enjoy the panniers. For the price you can’t beat them. Yes I am loving the GS. Had it almost a year now and I also mostly do road. Maybe a light dirt road here and there. Let me know how you like the bags.

@@AmericanAbroad1 Ive only had the panniers for about a week and they're 13 litres capacity a bag .They are just what I wanted and take away the need for a top box etc to be always on the bike .Yes their price is great...but the postage cost is "gold plated " I also have a Lomo tank bag ,but with the GS having plastic covers on the tank[also plastic} the magnetic bag is unusable If I need extra luggage capacity I have a D38 bag from a company you may know ..DrySpec . It weighs a lot less than the top box I have .

Quite simple - you went from a badly thrown together tractor built by couldn’t care less, badly trained Americans to a precision machine built by caring technicians in Germany 🤷‍♂️

Well…tell us how you really feel lol. 😂 It’s true. Harley mechanics seem more interested in taking your money than actually helping. BMW Seems to do a great job. Sometimes it would be middle of summer (prime riding season) and the bike goes in for a small issue… by the time I got it back, riding season was over. I’ll stick with BMW
