this is actually huge advice and something that took me a long time to learn as a Mercy player lol especially with the GA nerfs. cover doesn't stop existing and doesn't stop being important just because you're not on the ground anymore

@@sethescope I play a fair bit of Ashe and Soldier. A Pharah and / or Mercy that use cover in the air can be so frustrating. You get them half health but can never finish them off. If they hang out in the open it’s just a shooting gallery and they normally end up getting no value and switch.

I have had to learn the hard way not to pocket a flying hero if they're not playing in a way that ideally lets us both use cover, less ideally that lets just me use cover. it's just not worth the deaths and the feeding. in low and mid ranks, it won't always be punished, but if someone is serious about improving and trying to climb, cover in the air is an absolute necessity

@@frozenfury0 it's possible to stay in the air for an extremely long time. if you use E to get yourself up in the air and then use shift and manage your jump button, you can stay up for a good long time. not forever but for a long time. my understanding is that getting better at learning to stay in the air (both in terms of using cover/not dying and knowing how to keep yourself up in the air longer with your buttons) is a big part of improving with Pharah re: circuit Royale, it's a matter of making use of what's there. it's not like Rialto, of course, where there's tons of roofs and stuff, but I think the trick is being in the air around the pieces of cover that exist. being on the ground isn't a sin as Pharah because sometimes you have to be, but when people are on the ground too often, it can be a sign they're still getting a hang of Pharah

Sorry. I haven't mastered my pharah yet so I couldn't stay in the air. That's why I kept to the high ground. The Ashe never really tried to shoot me down though

it also might be a habit from other shooter games, where the melee after can actually work as an animation cancel.

On the one hand, I play with gyro so I'd immediately get boosted up to at least gold on Console. On the other, Console players have a massive handicap in needing to aim with a stick.

It's more embarrassing when you remember that Jay3 hosted matches of console top500 vs PC top500 players and the PC team ended up losing every time. Jay3 even called his top500 friends to challenge the console players and he also lost lol

Fair. I was on those team fights. Was fighting for my survival. My first instinct is to never leave the point unless you can hold them in place hence why I was in their spawn

go into career profile, go to history (where you find your highlights). on the left side there will be stuff like game reports and replays. click on replays and then single click on the replay you want to save. pin it and then hit the share button and it will create a code. you can copy paste the code right then when it pops up, but the code will also be tagged onto the replay. you'll be able to see the code. tbh I'm not sure if you HAVE to pin the replay, but I'd do it just to be safe and make sure the replay doesn't get deleted.

As usual, if you are stuck, you are the problem. The other team has just as many “bad” players as your teams will have. Unless you are the common denominator.

yeah I dunno how this is plat. Everyone I go against in s2-g4 matches have way better awareness, reflexes and aim. guess that's console for ya.

I wasn't sure when they were on pharah, but it really showed when they went tracer that not only was their aim not the greatest, they had no grasp on how to use their cooldowns or target focus. Basically just shoot at whatever is immediately in front of you in the center of the screen

This was a more toned down lobby. Still good players but not my toughest match up. Reason I stated on pharah and widow so long but had to go to good old reliable Tracer

Typically no aim assist is i used to do for better natural aim training, but in the middle of a comp match? Interesting.

Pharah is the only hero I could see you not wanting aim assist because of the slow projectile speed.

I hate aim assist for Tracer and I did bump up the sensitivity just a big. Too much and I'd end up spinning. Aim assist just seems to be annoying because I get jerked around especially when I'm in there spawn holding them back like I was

@@Antonio-ys5zd nah man i used to be just like you. But for tracer specifically i turned it up and my tracking is way more consistent. Sure it can be annoying in group fights but thats just the pain of console

I’m in Oceania, where the player base is much smaller. I’m gold/silver and I’m better than than this phara at phara and I could definitely smoke her as soldier. I’m not saying I don’t make mistakes, I’m still new and learning, but my mechanics are much better

@@sethescope it's alright. And yes to op I do tend to play the objective because that's the name of the game and it helps not to C9. The team was good which was why I was zipping around alot more than normal. Not my best game nor my worst but knew Emongg would like those team fights

@frozenfury0 that probably sets in because of panic id wager. People who can't focus hit their buttons, and this person has zero focus. They can't focus at all, hence why their health would be 100% and they'd recall or why they wouldn't get any kills at all for minutes straight, and almost always did they recall or use an ability randomly after they had tried to get a kill and missed or switched target randomly. Truly crazy stuff

@frozenfury0 that's been the entire reason why I don't play ranked rn. I got to gold and saw no reason to keep going, because even low Plat matches looked like bronze matches and it was just unfun to have people on your team playing like this guy and getting nothing done. I don't think I'm stellar at the game by any means, but this guy makes me look like a high diamond player. I have no fun when the matches are almost completely either us tolling the enemy team or the enemy team rolling us, with about 1 or 2 matches every 10 feeling like actual matchups.

​@@BrosTheNuggetalright so I was only panic smashing on 3rd point. Most of my recalls where to get put of a pinch. Why I kept switching targets was mostly to try and get them to back away or force the supports to change targets so we had an easier time. I didn't have to kill. Just survive and annoy.

@@frozenfury0 I agree. I just can't have any fun with it rn if it's a roll fest in either direction. I won't hold my breath, but maybe the changes to the ranked system will fix that. It needs to, or this game will continue to be more painful than it's worth lol.

@@demigurlxd5781 maybe you could use this as an opportunity to ask yourself whether maybe there's an issue with how you engage. if three people turn around the second you decloak, maybe you can work on that so you have the element of surprise. I'd say that's a much better use of your time and energy than writing a comment that makes you seem like a jerk. the people who submit their vods watch the videos - imagine how you would feel if you sent in your replay and people said this kind of stuff about you.

I used to do the same thing until I learned that delaying your death can negatively impact your team! sometimes it's better to just yeet yourself into the enemy team and reset with your whole team. it's a hard lesson to learn 😅 tbh, I kind of still do this as a support by healing teammates when it's me and like one other person. when I play Mercy, I should just damage boost them so they get some extra ult charge without delaying their death, and similar things apply for the other supports im working on currently (if the fight is lost, I shouldn't use lamp, I should just let myself and my teammate die so I have it for next fight)

@@sethescope oh you misunderstand. I mean when it can make or break the game. Such as this 3rd point fight. If you watch closely you can see the Sigma use Flux and the timer start to drop. I was there to make sure it never did. Things like that if I can buy time even if I die is better than doing nothing at all

For DPS players the skill range is so small because none of them have game sense until they reach diamond, so they solely rely on mechanical skill to rank up and on top of that it is the most played role (by new players especially) The standard of DPS players is much lower in average ranks compared to tank and support.

@@frozenfury0 literally the only difference on PC is better tracking, other than that the difference is negligible, if anything Console players at Diamond and Masters have better game sense because they are limited by their aim so they have to compensate in other ways. PC players are so insecure.

@@frozenfury0As someone who plays a lot of Mercy, Lucio and Brig, I can tell you that because those heroes are not aim intensive characters (maybe Lucio is), that working on every other aspect of your game is absolutely necessary to succeed on those heroes regardless of the platform you play on and I could say the same thing for many tanks too. It is only DPS players that always fixate on aim and they typically always have the least game sense and have the most deaths every game.
