Hi guys!
Let me take you with me on an amazing journey through the interesting country of Sri Lanka!
I’m starting in Colombo and I will travel 2.000 km with my tuk tuk throughout beautiful scenery, tea plantations, mountain viewpoints, temples, National parks and stunning beaches!
This 16-day long trip will be full with lifelong memories, brand new experiences and good vibes! My Sri Lanka travel vlog serie will exist of 14 episodes! In this second episode we wil visit the Elephant Freedom Project in Kegalle!

Appreciate the Elephant Freedom Project for treating the elephants well. Why do the elephant guides carry a long stick with a metal point though? Similar to what the mahouts of the Pinnawala orphanage use to inflict pain on the elephants there. They should get rid of those pointed sticks.

Yes they explained to me the reason for that because I was wondering it myself. both elephants have their own caretaker who they trust a 100%. The two caretakers are also father and son. The father passes on his love of taking care of elephants to his son and you can see that they really have a special bond with the elephants. Still, the stick is necessary for rare situations where the elephant exhibits unpredictable behavior in front of us (tourists) and for the caretakers' own safety. I can say that during my visit they never once used the stick, not even to make them go faster because they were completely allowed to set their own pace and we also lured them by treating them with fruit.

This is not an ethical place as bullhooks are clearly see. Bullhooks are used for painfull control and discipline

They do not use painful control . Elephants love them. As 🇱🇰 Sri Lankans we can say it responsibly . Don't mislead people . Majority of people are buddhists . We value every living being . Not only elephants , cows , chickens .
