What’s your favorite special edition console in this video?

I wish that Sony would do what Microsoft does with some of their special editions with the power sounds.

I'm pretty sure literally the only reason Sony put plates on the PS5 is so that for special editions they only needed to change the plates and put a custom controller, no PS5 will truly be a special edition.

This year has been incredible for gamers. So many huge releases including this game next month.

The PS4 limited edition. I paid $800 for mine complete in box with 2 controllers and camera. Such a slick looking console.

Honestly I like the idea of being able to pick up the face plates and controller without buying a whole new console. As people said tho custom sound effects would be cool.

I couldn't but the plates, but I was able to buy several controllers. I ended buying the full bundle. I also ordered the Dbrand plates today because I like how they look.

I feel the same about your view on special and limited editions. For the Spiderman PS5 they could've had web designs around the fans, unique start up sound, or at least put a few different colors on internal parts.

500 million ps4 pro is the only limited edition I’ve seen with different packaging. All others are just a different shell on the same guts. At least the xbox one ones had special noises they made 😀

Nintendo has so many special edition consoles that I believe would be worth a video. But in terms of Sony and Microsoft I really like the OG Xbox Mountain Dew, OG Xbox Translucent Green, Xbox 360 Halo 3 Elite, Xbox 360S R2D2, PS4 Pro Spider-Man.

I really sold my old ps5 to get the SM edition only cause I have the ps4 pro version lol also noticed how much more quieter the disc tray reading and inserting it is compared to that last version I got in 2021

I think it is a special edition ps5 because with the ps4 special edition you could remove and replace the plates it just was more annoying

What I think would look nice on the Spider-Man one would be a red sticker where the PS Logo is. (Cuz people have made coloured Stickers for it)

I think they should add the wallpapers asap. And to make the limited edition modifiy the ps5 to get a wallpaper for free that is only exclusive to the ps5 that you bought

In my opinion for the limited edition of Playstation 5 and the limited edition dualsense could strive for more than a half-modified black controller and 2 simple shocks, but nothing more.

I managed to get one of the Spidey/Venom PS5s. I like it and I am very satisfied.

Ended up getting the Spider-Man bundle put it in a case sitting right on my display shelf 🤩

The only thing that I will do with the Spider-Man. Controller is change the buttons into red and black. Cause the white buttons do not match the other stuff.

custom consoles should have a custom ui, custom sounds, custom boot noises etc.

I feel that Microsoft has done special edition consoles best in my opinion. Remember the Halo 4 Edition Xbox 360, or Star Wars? Or even Gears Of War edition on the previous gen 360 before slim. 😊

It would have been cool if the Spider-Man. PS5 would have made sounds like the Xbox 3 60s when they came out with the Call of Duty and Star Wars.

My spiderman ps5 from Sony direct had a faulty hdmi port out of the box. They wanted to do a rma process so I returned it and was lucky enough to get one from Amazon.

Love the look of the Spider-Man PS 5 but it kinda sucks that the controller doesn’t match color to the console c’mon Sony what is up, just wanted to say love your content, keep it up look forward to the next one.

The spiderman PS5 should have been blue in the middle instead of black. Sony could still sell the faceplates too as it looks fine on a black console.

Jacob, I have gone through 2 PS5 Spider-Man consoles from GameStop. My third system has the same issues as the first 2. When held on its side there is a banging sound when you give it a gently shake and bad fan sound. I would love to send to for a break down and repair video. I would also like a memory upgrade. That Spider-Man 2 one is mostly Just decals - not quite special edition, I feel. I also note that there's no special content - really. Where's the games also? Back in the day when you bought a new console (or other gaming device) you got a few games, some that you couldn't get elsewhere in a special bundle, etc. These there's not even a certificate of authenticity or a thank you. (At least not as they used to be). Just my thoughts on these.

I think unlike the ps5 were you can change the plates on the ps4 when there was a special edition i feel like they had to make a new ps4 special for the special editon because the way they werw built its not eazy like the ps5 to remove the outer part im sure on the ps4 they had to make a new cosole shell with the special edition whatever

Hot take but I disagree with how PS should put something special in the Limited Edition console itself. I think its cool that the plate is interchangeable. Because I don't want to be stuck with lots of PS haha. That's what I did with 3DSs. So Im glad that all you need to do is just switch the plates.

The halo one was the best. The spider man was cool but pretty... bland? They completely forgot about miles on this console and i think one side of mile's electric with his logo keeping the symbiote away would have make this 300 times better, it doesn't look really "special", same about the controller. But man, the halo special edition had everything special in it, the box, the look, the sounds just top notch, it's sucks that sony didn't really put much effort in spider man 2 special edition and it could have looked way more unique, cooler and special but it looks like they took the black pates and added some drawings.

I remember not sleeping for 3 days trying to hunt down a halo infinite series x just for my girlfriend to find one for me at Walmart once I left for deployment lmao

How can something be a "special edition" when ANYONE can buy the side plates & controller? There is nothing "special" about that when anyone can do it. Something that is labeled "special edition," is something different than what people originally can buy & is supposed to be unique to what everyone else has. This is why I dont ever buy these.

There is nothing special about "limited" edition consoles. It's cosmetic and the odd machine which will make a different sound when turning on or lights.

No, everybody can NOT buy the faceplates off the shelf because apparently Sony only produced like 12 and they were sold out literally in less than an hour on Playstation Direct and I have no intention of paying a 1,000% markup to an eBay scalper. Enjoy your special, LIMITED edition.

It's not really "available for everybody". The plates were barely available. They would be up for at most 7 minutes before they would sell out. I had to watch a livestream covering release day restock drops to even get the plates. Sony really botched this.
