I'm Mike, Welcome to my dwarven city mega-project inside my Lord of the Rings-inspired Fantasy survival world project. My goal is to create an entire world based off of the second age of middle earth while being a fully function Minecraft base with every farm you can think of! Today I wanted to begin work on a huge mountain range build which will eventually span thousands of blocks!

We have to see Durin’s stair, an endless stairway from bedrock to build height. You could put it inside a tower that is right behind the king’s throne so he has access to all of the city.

I would say no door as a door as large as one would need to be might make the build look a little over the top and silly. Especially if this build is heavily inspired by the east gate of Moria which had no door. This build is amazing and is by far my favorite KZfaq series I am watching currently!!! You constantly give me inspiration for my own personal Dwarven builds.

Super appreciate the feedback and you’re right the east gate didn’t seemingly have a door in the 3rd age. Curious if it did when they sealed it off in the 2nd age 🤔🤔

As for the detailing, i think every KZfaqr I've seen does the framework first, then fills in the gaps then details last, so think you're doing the right thing

Honestly I’m so excited! I know it’s easy to listen to everyone who seemingly is nervous but I know Andy Serkis directed some of the B units in LOTR so I know he can work well with Peter Jackson so I can only beleive this movie will be another great one ♥️ appreciate you snaps

i personally if putting a door on it would do a giant door, because i think it would look weird and disproportionate. also moria east gate was open. also leaving it open makes it look more grand. if your were gonna do a door or something i would do something like erebor where the overall gate was large but the 'door' was smaller

you can use lava and water to build mountains⛰🔥💧

I was thinking, maybe you should add a little bit more stone brick to the frame of the gate only for the fact that it may blend in a little too well with the mountain. You almost lose site of it even though what you’ve made looks so good and seems more realistic/ correlates to the Tolkien universe, where they just build and tear into the mountain. Excited to see where you go with this though!
