What state are you in?

There’s a guy who has a few posts about it. He confirmed something that I was thinking and that is in order to really be successful You need to be licensed in multiple states for telemedicine! I plan to apply for Arizona and Nevada next.

Cresha Nicole I’m in Nevada! Arizona is currently a compact state, so if you get licensed there, you will also have access to do telemedicine in the compact states.

On compact...You have to live in a compact state to get compact for others. I'm in telehealth as an RN and I don't live in compact. Az is one of me states. I have to get individual in each. Also I don't know if np does compact so he cautious. These states can get tricky

Christine D'Allaird You are correct! NPs don’t do compact. We have to get a license in each state. And each state handles us differently.

wisdom and love - My goodness I WISH! You can get there with two jobs though. For example, full time as a nurse practitioner and being an online professor with at least 3 sections/classes each term. It can be done with hard work! There are some NPs that work full time and part time and are making that much. Again, it takes some work. That’s GOALS for sure.

Your license allows you to be a provider of nursing care, even as a private nurse. HOWEVER, everything you do AS A NURSE must be ordered by a medical provider (ie, physician, nurse practitioner, physician assistant). Also, don't hesitate to email the board of nursing or ACHA. I promise they will give you the absolute correct and up-to-date information with no problem, no questions. Especially AHCA. They've always been helpful to me.

I can’t really advise you on this but I will say I know people see tele patients while on vacation out of the country. They don’t discuss their location and just see the patient. I can’t imagine out this would work if you’re staying out of the country for an extended period of time.

Any that have a parity law and allows for out of state providers. Include states that allow for full practice authority on top of that and you’re golden. Try Maryland, Washington, Arizona...

You don’t have to be anything to own it. But you have to be a medical provider (physician, NP, PA, psychiatrist, etc) to see the patients.

Can a paramedic do it?

Robert Wagner - Not to my knowledge. You have to be a medical provider or counselor of some sort.

Ida Malone No. you can own anything you want. BUT you’d have to hire the licensed provider to do the telehealth visits.

Thank you for the quick response, I appreciate it. I am a RN and currently working on my MSN. Do you have any information on how to start a telehealth business? I currently work as a Telehealth Nurse and am really enjoying and see the benefits behind it. I think this is a great opportunity to see patients when their schedules aren’t conducive to a F2F visit.
