This video will teach you the difference between an agency and a staffing firm even though people use the terms interchangeably. Even if you want to start a healthcare staffing firm the same rules apply.
When learning how to start a healthcare recruitment agency you should get advice by someone who has done it. I have been in the business since 1996 helping with the family business, and eventually took over the company and expanded from a nursing agency to home healthcare agency. This is a complete guide for a medical staffing startup.
Last year I was featured on @EarnYourLeisure and gave an overview on the business and how much money you can make with a nursing agency and home health care company. What I didn't do is give the step by step. This spring I plan to release a new installment to my killing the American dream educational tool and start mentoring nurses and entrepreneurs on how to succeed in this business. I just listened to a free 5 day intro course about starting a staffing agency and afterwards found out it was 30k to join the program where you obtained the info that you really needed to know. Great video, well done on overview of medical staffing. I totally agree with education on nursing agency staffing. I like how you have explained the types of agency business perm or temp. I have been in healthcare business for 30 years now, ran my own for 20 years, then felt I was qualified to coach entrepreneurs in the United Kingdom. I have also set up staffing agency in the USA, and Medical School. Its important to know what types and what carepreneurs are passionate about. The software sounds great, would like details on this. Best info i've heard yet without all the red tape. I do have one question: i understand that that you will need some type of nursing knowledge but, do you need a nursing degree to start an agency/staffing service? What education do you recommend? thank you in advance!

Glad you like the info! No, you don't need a nursing degree to run a staffing agency, you just need the commitment to learning and executing the necessary steps. You'll need to be familiar with some aspects of the healthcare industry and if you have the prior education that's an advantage, but anyone committed to learning can build their own staffing firm. More important to find the rate that you will have to pay the worker from there you start with a 50% markup.

Mr. Pierre, I am very interested. After watching this video and I quickly realizing that this is what I have been preparing myself for all these years. I work in the heath field for seven years, as a Business Associate for a unit floor. I work with Nursing Management, Bedboard, Social Work, Doctors, Nursing staff and PCA. Therefore, I have acquired so much knowledge over the years that I know exactly what the hospital need when it comes to staffing. Right now the hospital I work for may or may not strike tomorrow. Also I see where they need adequate staffing and to help the overworked nursing staff, and the hospital on a hold. Mr. Pierre I am a very headstrong, focus, a business professional and problem solver. I just have one question?

Most are charging 1.5 to 2x what their paying their staff. Call, position yourself as an employee looking, ask for rates and that should give you an idea of what their bill rate is. These sort of details are shared and taught in our passive workforce course.

Hi I'm a RN in the New England area (native NY'er) and seeking to do just this. I have the LLC and everything aligned. I was on your site not too long ago and remember your pricing starting around $97. Now its $900 to begin???

Hi Doris, that is correct we have eliminated the $97 option and replaced that with mentoring calls, 1 group call a month. The basic instructional plan starts at $900. We determined that we were offering our services for too low of a price. As a business owner you will eventually have to make similar determination on how you choose to price your products and services and when to take advantage of discount offerings. Is there a difference between a medical Staffing firm and a agency. I'm in Missouri and cannot find any regulations for a medical staffing firm. I have called and called and noone has answers?! Where can I get the correct info so I can start my Company in Missouri?!

There's a small technical difference but chances are Missouri is a non regulated state.

@@Karl__Pierre how would I find out if it is Non regulated. I called the State and they were clueless? I told them I am not a home health agency and from there, they were lost?! Would I even need insurance? Initially I was starting in Tampa FL which goes through ACHA but I have found nothing here.
