@@PrentisHancock1 He is a tremendous athlete but he is pretty old now. Also some of the younger guys have also broken a ton of WR. Also Farah isn’t even training now because he is in a TV show. I do think he will be in the top 5 but not top 3

@@PrentisHancock1 also he closed in a 53 second lab in a slow place not a fast one. Farah is a sit and kicker but the talents he is facing up against are not sit and kickers but strength athletes. This race impacted KB a lot because this race made him much stronger and made him broke records after the race. He also started having the strong kick he is known for after the race. I think he remembers that race were he got 3 and he realized that he should have a much stronger kick. I do think he should have pushed the pace later in the race so he stops the fast kick of the Moroccan legend. Idk what he would get but I am pretty sure the race impacted him a lot

@matster77 3 жыл бұрын
Not hard to believe at all. Bekele is objectively faster than Kipchoge at middle distance. He’s objectively faster than anyone who has ever lived. (Even his now broken WR’s are superior due to lack of carbon plate tech) If he spent more time on the marathon, Bekele would have almost certainly surpassed Kipchoge at that distance too.

I think the calculation involved in estimating a final mile/ 1600m of 3m 52sec is incorrect - The time at 3200m was 8m 18sec & at 3600m was 9m 23sec thus for that intervening 400m lap the time was 65sec - based on it being run at a reasonable even pace ie 32sec / 33sec for each 200m the leaders would’ve gone through 3400m ( time not shown in video ) in app 8m 51sec meaning the final 1600m / mile was around a still exceptionally fast 4m 02sec but not 3m 52sec ! !

Eliud Kipchoge definitely pulled a dirty one there, with 50m to go he was clearly in lane 2, but decided to cut into lane 1 and almost force El Guerrouj off the track. At the finish line you can see him cutting more than halfway across lane 1. I think it is entirely possible that El Guerrouj would have won if he had a clear path in front.
