GRAB THE CHAMPAGNE BECAUSE WE FINISHED SUBMITTING ALL OF OUR 2022 LAW SCHOOL APPS! I have been working on these for so long so I am very happy they are done and I got them in. This video is to celebrate the wins so let's celebrate together and also to go over all of my materials and my best tips for applying to law school. As a non-traditional reapplicant I share all of the things I have learned through both of my admissions cycles and how I updated my materials as a reapplicant. Whether it is your first admissions cycle or you retook and reapplied it will hopefully have helpful insight, but as always it is my own experience and should be taken with a grain of salt.

Thank you!! I am very excited. It has been a very slow cycle so I’m hoping once schools start back up admissions will really get moving in January. I can’t wait to record and post that video 🥳

Congratulations on your success! Thanks for these videos. I’m studying for the lsat now and preparing to apply this coming cycle, and it really can feel like a lonely process sometimes, but I know this is what I am meant to do.

Congratulations!!! I’m applying this cycle too, and I’m hoping to have my apps submitted in the next week or two. We’re applying to a lot of the same schools, so maybe I’ll see you on campus next year!

Yay!!! A pre emotive congrats from me! Finishing up your apps feels so nice (tho now it’s just a waiting game) and you’re getting them in early which is good. I applied February last cycle which wasn’t bad but I’d say it is much nicer to have them done before the holidays. Best of luck and that would be so fun! Hahaa keep me updated with where you get in!

Your videos really have us thinking. Very well done! My daughter is applying now (Feb) and only wanting to really go to a top school. She didn't have much choice because she had a 167 and got her new score this week (176) BUT her gpa is just 3.5 Really wondering if we should rethink her strategy and if she doesn't get into Columbia or NYU maybe reapply next year? I appreciate all your candid advice! (I'm a UofTx law grad 1990 so I've advised her as much as I can in this application part. That LSAT improvement was all her. Lots of hard work as you know well!) Congratulations on seeing your hard work pay off!

Best of luck to her!! It’s definitely a weird process and you never know what various admissions want but that’s an amazing score! I hope everything works out for her and it might be worth trying to find some people at the school who did early admissions or speak with admissions themselves to ask about benefits

So glad I found you! I love your focus of queer inclusivity. As a black, transgender woman I am terrified for this application stuff. I graduate in December so I’m studying for September’s LSAT and I love all these tips boo! Thank you for this information.

HELL YA! I am so glad other queer people are finding my content. That was such a big part of why I started this channel. I hope your LSAT studies go as smooth as possible and sending you the best energy to get an amazing score to get all the admissions and scholarship money you can! Navigating the application process can definitely feel tricky especially when considering what parts of your identity you want to disclose and how much. Best of luck in your journey 💖💖💖

I’ve binged all your videos and absolutely love your personality. Will you do a cycle recap or a decision reaction? Also, I saw your comment that you applied in February last cycle. Do you think the waitlists were due to when you applied or your LSAT score at the time? I decided a little late that I wanted to apply this cycle, so I only have 1.5 months of LSAT studying. I’m still trying to decide whether I will take November. I know for sure I will take January and I feel like I can get in the 170’s in January. I would be disappointed not to go law school next fall, but I’m not completely against it. What are your thoughts? Will applying in February make a significant impact on my outcomes? Congratulations on finishing your app and I’m wishing you all the success!

Hey Nana! Omg haha thank you so much. I remember binging (and still do) law content so I'm glad you enjoy my channel. And last cycle was very irregular from what I've read and researched so it is kinda hard to say, but since the flex test is done they have seen a more normal distribution of scores. I would say it was probably a combination of timing and my score, like for the lower ranked schools I thought I was a shoe in for and got waitlisted it was likely timing and not my score, but the higher ranked ones that I got waitlisted at when I was under LSAT medians was likely more timing since I was already under their stats. My best advice is always to take the time and get your best score (on your first try if possible). A lot of consultants online say its always better to wait to apply with a better score (especially because your score isn't just about getting in but about how much scholarship you get). Obviously its more ideal to apply early with the best score you can because there are the most seats and money available so it's kind of up to you based on how you're funding law school and that type of stuff. I hope that helps and keep me updated on how things go! I will for sure record my admissions decisions once I start hearing back - but that video will take months because some schools might not send decisions until March 🤡 Best of luck on your journey and thanks for watching 🥰

Hi Tyler. I'm new to your channel. I just saw this off of your vlog touring UC Berkeley Law and Stanford Law! I'm a non-traditional undergrad contemplating law school. Where did you attend undergrad? An impressive UGPA to say the least. I hope you get into the school you really want.

Hey and welcome to the channel 🥰🥳 I attended University of San Diego for undergrad and graduated in 2017 so I’ve been out of school a couple of years. And thank you!! I’m playing the waiting game to hear back from schools but fingers crossed 🤪

Hey, I am really enjoying ur video uploads.. U cover all the bases, including gender-neutral make-up knowhow.. But more than anything else, I am eager to unravel the complicated facts behind ur Lsat success story. How did u study the LR section? I am struggling with that now.. Any tips?
@tydieofficial
@tydieofficial 2 жыл бұрын
Hey! For LR I started with Kaplans method which was alright but I also hit a plateau. It’s also a section that I feel is different for everyone. I had a harder time with flaw type questions at first. But when I was hitting a wall I focused on getting better and better at breaking down the stimulus. Once I could digest and really tell what the stimulus said that helped me get faster at my time and in identifying wrong answers so I could have less options to choose from.

Hey!! Send me a DM on IG or Twitter and I’ll think about it. I was contemplating posting on here but I know it’s so taboo to blatantly post them. And agreed! It’s a lot of competing factors and at the end of the day will never be perfect so I tried to highlight the best possible aspects I could in a compelling way. ❤️ best of luck on your apps and looking forward to your message

If you truly care about the underrepresented, that will require you not to follow the money. There is a girl at my law school who talked the talk about helping the underprivileged only to turn around and accept an offer to do corporate law in New York. You will help no bipoc as a corporate lawyer in New York but it pays a boatload of money.

Ya scholarships and debt will definitely play a roll in my first job out of law school but I’m hoping I can get enough so I have the freedom to do more public interest work. I have heard from some people who went to firms they were able to do a lot of pro Bono work though so it could depend on the firm you end up at.
@TeamTimeRiders
@TeamTimeRiders 2 жыл бұрын
@@tydieofficial that’s a good way to think about it. What are your goals specifically within the field of public interest? Most of those jobs are low paying and do not care about grades and/or class rank. Thus, they can be easily achieved from most mid-tier law schools. If money is a concern and you want to work in prosecution or defense, go to the school that will give you the most money and/or allow you to graduate with zero debt. My general logic is that if you don’t 100% know what you want to do, go to the best law school you can get into. I think with your scores, you’ll be a full pay at any T-6 you get into but you could get good money from schools 14-20. As someone who attends a school within that band, you will not be starved for opportunities. In the job market, If the T-14 are a full Las Vegas buffet, the T-20 are the almost-as-good restaurant next door. Sometimes, you don’t need to go several hundreds of thousands of dollars in debt for the buffet if the restaurant would do the trick. All in all, I think you’re thinking about this in all the right ways. Looking forward to seeing how this process shakes out for you!
@tydieofficial
@tydieofficial 2 жыл бұрын
@@TeamTimeRiders thank you! And I’ve been thinking similarly since I’m not fully set on what practice of law I’m gonna do (want to use the experiential opportunities to see what’s a good fit). Plus the higher I can go for less money will allow me more market flexibility for my partners career in the future as well. I’d really love to get clinical experience at an LGBT center assisting trans individuals get documents and paperwork to align with their identities but also think working in a community focused business development clinic could be a great way to help low income communities build generational wealth and hopefully brings more resources into their neighborhoods and communities. I plan on recording my admissions decisions and ma sure I’ll make a video when I finally know where I’m going on my thought process and reasoning for that school :)
