I'm at 0:15 and I really just cracked so hard at the "I'll hold it" My day was going so blue thanks for this!

OMg! I've experienced absolut the same situation. Understand you and completely empathize with what you're going through.

Great video! I live in Europe and mostly work with the US and I just make sure that at least 3 hours overlap. It works quite well, async work has also a few advantages like not having to wait for feedback and the opportunity to work with no distractions.

Absolutely agree Jakub. Sometimes it felt like we were cheating time cause I would work and they would wake up with the design nice and ready for review :)

Hey Carola! I’ve been working remotely for more than 3 years now. I used to work for a company based in the East Coast and I always had the feeling not to be in the “main timezone” for the company. Now I work for a Danish company and I feel much better, no more late night working and a good life-work balance. As you said, working at crazy hours it’s sustainable only for the short term.

I'm glad you found something better for your time zone!! It was definitely challenging :S

I did remote work for the last 4 years and with nearly the same tine differences (8 hours). Im the same as you prefer to work at night and i like to sleep until late so its really fit for me to start working at 4pm and finish around midnight.

The part about being “remote” can cause you to loose status is sometimes referred to as the empty chair. When people don’t see you and interact with out our side of actual business duties you loose your place as part of the team. It’s kind of like you’re a contractor not an employee.
