Well it’s pretty rare to even have a team in the draft w/ 2 top 10 picks so not too surprising. When it does happen it’s likely usually a QB & left tackle or QB & edge rusher. Not I. Same draft but Cincy took Burrow #1 overall & then Chase top 10 the next year

Us Bears fans having optimism for our offense is strange, for sure. Still think Green Bay and Detroit will be fighting for the division crown this year but the Bears should be a helluva lot more competitive than in the recent past.

Just said the same thing. They always went for skill position players on offense instead of stacking the O Line, its why no QB ever worked out. Caleb is different for sure though. But they need to give him at 2 seconds to throw to the stacked WR core.

The reality is that that’s a bit of a myth. They haven’t killed QB careers. Jay Cutler had some of his most productive years with them. Trubisky had his most productive years with them. Fields, I believe, has had the most productive years he’ll ever have and it was with the Bears. They don’t KILL QBs. What they have been historically bad at is QB evaluation. So the jury is still out on if Caleb Williams is what they think he is but the reality is that neither Trubisky or Fields (the only two QBs they’ve actually drafted in recent years) simply aren’t high-caliber NFL QBs. They’re great athletes but not great QBs. But it’s not because of anything the Bears did other than they were wrong in their initial evaluation of those two young QBs.
