This album set the bar so high that no one can or has touched it. The black album by Metallica is on the same platform because just about every song on that album was a smash hit, not saying it was better than previous but it was itself a masterpiece. Megedeth is something special beyond words.

Hey King. Found you on here in my quest for great music. I agree about Tornado of Souls being if not the best megadeth song, but definitely in the top 5. Check out the live versions of this from each guitarist over the years, there are live videos on KZfaq all over the place. Its amazing that the band went thru so many guitarists but each one is amazing. the live tornado of souls will blow your mind if you love guitar. Thanks for sharing.

Megadeth songs contain some of the best lyrics and instrumentals of any genre ever, especially on this album. Fucking flawless album.

Surfing with the Alien by Satriani as to be my favorite guitar song. Seriously nuts how he makes his guitar almost talk

Megadeth has so, SO many amazing songs! I am 100% positive if you listen to more you will change your mind about Metallica being kings of transitions ;) Dream Theater and Rush may be the gods of complexity though..

One thing I haven't seen anyone mention is that Dave Mustaine was once in Metallica, long story but you can see the transition skills from both bands were learned together in the early days. Both bands are flippin awesome.

One of my fav albums off all time. I remember listening to this album at Diana's house and thinking this was the best album ever for its heavy fast guitars. A true Thrash Classic.

80s is better. The more unorthodox and less repetitive songs have the edge over the more conventional writing of the 90s. Both are great but the 80s songs are more interesting structure and tone wise.
