@@topelite666I agree, however the problem is most people that are into content creation aren't always scientists at heart and don't know how important it is to document everything and to make sure you run extensive experimentation. Personally, I don't think jump height is the best measurement because the effort to reward ratio gets steep as you approach whatever your theoretical maximum. Speed tests likewise aren't as useful, so I'd recommend doing this with something more like power lifting. I'm going possibly give this a try myself actually.

You should do your depth jumps facing the other way, either onto a different box, or just jumping into the air as high as possible. It means youll be able to absorb more force specifically how you will actually be jumping, as well as significantly decreasing your risk of achilles rupture. Keep up the great work bro was awesome to see your progress.

I really appreciate the longer review. When it comes to strength improvement, a week is just about always too little so this was great. On the jumping aspect, I hear you doing a lot of leg work, but no mention of calves specifically. I did a ton of calf raises and credit it highly with improving my jump height and getting able to dunk. You should give it a try.

You should look into jumping techniques for dunking. Your power seems fine, so with the right technique I think you'll easily dunk a ball. You want to take a big step with one leg, then put your second leg close to it and a bit up front, and use the momentum to jump high. Jumping with 2 feet at the same time doesn't take your momentum too much into height.

Love seeing the improvements, Lucas! I don't know if you're looking for recommendations but some powerlifting movements like cleans and even hex bar jumps might be something worth looking into for more explosiveness and power. Either way, keep up the great work, we're rooting for you!
@sirjoel6415

I think you'd be able to dunk a tennis ball if you had better jump technique. You're messing up your penultimate step 1 step earlier. During your left right two-step jumper, you did the penultimate step BEFORE that with your left foot, so you pushed off hard on your left, stretched, but then ended up pushing with your right in small stutter steps resulting in a short 1-2 afterwards. The correct form is to just run normally and push off your RIGHT foot and stretch that left leg FAR into the left-right one two, and the second foot should be in front of the first. This helps transfer your running momentum vertically much more efficiently.

As a former dunker at 6 feet tall jumping high is about explosive power. Strength plays a part but how fast you can contract you muscles is what gets you up. Form and getting your steps right is key. Once you get to where you can grab the rim with your palm get someone to toss some alley oops and try to dunk those. And dunk a softball first and then a volleyball. That helps get the muscle memory ingrained. Plus it always helps to have some competition. Either play b-ball or have dunk competitions against other guys. Another aid is dunking on a 9 foot goal and working your way up to 10 ft. Good luck! At 6 ft tall you need about a 31-32 inch vert to dunk.

@FocusedLucas - that pop you had is a sign that the connective muscles in the bottom of your feet are beat up and weak especially from high impact plyometrics landings Your Achilles is in danger of a rupture if you don't start to exercise your toes in each foot. Easiest way - place each toe in hand pull back on toe creating resistance - fight against the resistance. You should hold each toe against the force of resistance for 15 seconds until it gets easier over a matter of time. The beach said is good also but not as good as that.

In a month of wearing them 10 hours a day my legs were stronger than before my injuries. Wearing weights, even small amounts, consistently adds huge results. I ended up wearing those weights for about 3 months total and even many years later my legs still ripped and strong. It definitely helped me, but it was hard the first week or so.
