Can you actually get permanently taller after 18?, how about taller after 25? Naturally? I had a hypothesis I wanted to put to the test so I created a special table that would pull at my legs after impactful exercise and theoretically cause lower limb growth. Would it actually work?

@@ZrCorelxbecause the number ”6 foot” has been programmed into the brains of women so much, do you think a 5’4 woman in a real life scenario is going to know the difference between someone who is 5’11 and 6’0? It’s the same concept with women who say they want a man who is 8 inches, not knowing how huge that is.

biology student here, I think you'd wanna do a few tweaks, but it might be a bit annoying: - you'd want a longer time, at least 2 hours or preferably 8 hours a day, this was the benchmark used for temporary orthodontic wear vs full-time 24 hours, they found it to be 66% as effective as 24 hours a day when worn overnight, which is likely affected by bone metabolism being different at night - use a vibrating table or vibrator for 15 min a day on the bones in particular is known to speed up orthodontic rate, since it facilitates faster bone metabolism, vibration at 120hz (high setting on a wand vibrator) or a whole body vibration table was known to increase treatment iirc - oral vitamins that are known to also upregulate bone metabolism and speed up orthodontic time, including Vitamin C, D, and E good luck with your experiments x

This is an interesting experiment and the hypothesis makes sense to me. I've heard of boxers using techniques to break down/rebuild their fists before. My only suggestion would be that you may want to consult a physical therapist for tips on how to do this as safely as possible; I could see issues coming from pulling on your ankles/knees like that for extended periods.

Excellent theory! Not a scientist or anything, but here's where I think the experiment went wrong. 1. You're stretching at your joints. to isolate the stretch, you want to find a way to hold from the bones themselves, not at the ankle and hip. Not even sure how you'd go about achieving this. 2. Time. Definitely need to be "stretching" longer than an hour. I'd say sleep through in when your body goes through it's healing process. 3. Just resting isn't necessarily healing the bones. Force you're body into "healing mode" by grounding, especially while sleeping. I know it's a bit controversial, but grounding works, and I stand by it. So TLDR: isolate and stretch the bones themselves, not just the joints. Do this while grounded and sleeping through the night for a few weeks. Honestly I might try this myself.

I have been doing dead hangs for many years. And kniw for a fact I did not use to be able to reach the ceiling before I started and now I can do it easily. So at least my reach is way "taller" or further. If that is from my joins or arm have gotten longer or if my body has gotten taller. I have no idea because I have not measured me in decades. I am already as tall as I would want anyway and I always was at a bit more than 6'2. Anyway I love doing dead hang switches now. It feels so great hanging from one arm and having perfect control of being able to grab and hang from stuff and switch arms and not getting tired for a few minutes. It feels like the body is made to hang and really like to do it often, it feels really healthy to do. I used to have lots of issues with my back and shoulders. I don't have that anymore and I am pretty sure doing lots and lots of dead hangs was a big reason for that.

It would theoretically be better if you did the stretch right before sleeping because if you get out of the chair and start walking this would reapply gravity force on your legs and it might compress them again. so if you did this before bed and then quickly got into bed and slept this would kinda "lock in" your progress because the bones will heal while you sleep in that elongated state. Also, you can do this stretch in a way easier way by just sitting by your bed with your legs dangling (you need a tall bed or any other tall place you can sit on where your legs don't touch the ground) and use weights on your feet that pull and stretch your femurs down and then after you're done stretching you take the weights off and just fall back into bed and sleep.

A Suggestion for adjustment;. Do it right before you go to sleep. And; Add B3, Calcium(And other Minerals that the bones take), Glycine, Taurine, Collagen Peptides and Beta Alanine(?). Glycine, B3(NMN...) & Taurine help with cellular health, Beta Alanine helps with metabolising Fat(So taking it before bed should help the body switch to fat in your sleep) And the peptides and minerals go into the bones. and you want the body to have all the time needed to rebuild them, so, before bed.

You need to get an Apple Vision Pro when you do experiments like this! Laptop, phone, and computer altogether for that hour! Also, you need to try all of the different techniques together for a month and see if you get more than 1 inch of decompression. If you can do that, then next you need to figure out how to make the effect last longer.
@robbbarnett4978
@robbbarnett4978 12 күн бұрын
Spinal decompression is accomplished thru some chiropractic machines that actually stretch your spinal column. I have one each month. They work in reducing pain by spreading the vertebrae apart thus decreasing nerve pinching. Its a sophisticated traction system that gradually pulls you longer. I always feel great afterward.
@ERIK-457
@ERIK-457 26 күн бұрын
I am NOT using that unless i find a variant that stretches your entire body, i dont want to have long legs and short arms and spine, maybe less long legs but slightly longer spine and arms, it would have to be an entire bed or table and not just a chair but would be worth it. Also, i think even just slightly slim or low-density people should not try this thing, otherwise they would end up too weak and frail, or exaggeratedly skinny

What if compression in the vertebral bones are counteracting any vertical growth in the lower limbs? The impact forces from exercise ought to affect all load bearing bones and joints in your body. If there was a way to limit compression in the spine then you might get a better result.

I think the design could work but the micro damage is not sufficient to allow for lengthening. There’s a reason the medical procedure actually breaks the bones in order to lengthen them. For it to really work, he would need two broken legs and then use this while he was recovering. That being said, it would be interesting to see how much decompression can be achieved using a variant of this for lower body decompression attached to an inversion table for upper body decompression. 🤔

Well it works you just need a little more time like at least 2 months. Also increase gelatin intake as it aids bone formation and helps maintain morning height. Supplement Glucosamine and d3+k2 to accelerate progress. It worked for me and I’m way pass puberty. Grew 2 inches in 6 months

Currently 26 yo. Well, i was lucky enough to have Olympic pool right next to my home so I’ve started swimming. At first it was just backstrokes 50m now I do 200m freestyle swimming. Usually 2-4x a week. Also I do skipping pretty regularly but I keep it short 10-15 min in the evening. The idea is to jump as high as possible to create micro fractures in femur and tibia and heal bones in elongated state. Take ankle weights or rubber band and hang or stretch your legs at least for an hour. Some people go as far as banded sleeping but for me it’s inconvenient. And lastly your nutrients should aid bone formation so drink raw farmers milk, egg yolks, bone broth(or gelatine powder), carrots should be your staple food

There's a looksmaxing community explored the idea of boosting bone remodeling by inhibiting estrogen and boosting GH to maximize osteoclast at the maximum rate that can be controlled with elevated osteoblast alongside it. The goal was to speed up the progress from Mewing. A lot of the science has overlap with the non leg lengthening height increase communities that used to exist in the past also. If you really want to test this hypothesis just 1 hour of stretching the bone is so insignificant and your bones aren't remodeling anywhere near fast as a 21 year old with higher natural GH levels. Also you have to consider that for something like the legs that this remodeling approach should also hold true for bodybuilders doing heavy squats and dealifts possibly after jump training for the bone impact. We would probably see lifters who shrunk in their legs if just an hour is enough time for the bones to change length. You would need to stretch your legs overnight and do this experiment for 3 moths to see any long term changes imo. I don't think it's worth the strain on your joints to do that much stretching with your setup either since even ankle weight hanging on tall chairs is enough to cause joint issues.
@NoRockinMansLand

A light stretch overnight wouldn't be a bad thing, as long as it's intense your joints should be able to handle it. Also, resistance training and mobility naturally strengthens joints

this stuff works, the body only knows resistance and force, and it will apply to any force you put on it. science is constantly updating itself every decade, so for analysis of recent studies to come to the consensus that most people finish growing at 16-25 depending on age, sex, genetics. etc. is only a consensus for today and may be more widespread in the future. the same way doing plyometrics and stretching that creates micro fractures and elongates the tissue in the bone, is the same way one could eventually create new bone tissue which could increase height after puberty you definitely should keep doing this at leat 5x a week for months on end, also for longer, even during your sleep if you can, as you grow a lot more when you sleep since that is when the most growth hormone is released and evidently when your body is in repair mode which means repairing and building new and longer bones while you sleep overtime

Probably the bones change too little to see an effect from that, maybe if you did it over a way longer period of time. I don't think it was a stupid idea, would have been cool to see an effect. 18:30 I would say shorter means less mass, meaning less effort on the heart and joints so it might be really good for longevity. On the other hand that makes me wonder why larger animals like elephants can live for 60+ years. Maybe they're not stressed as much as we are.
@raymondqiu8202
@raymondqiu8202 27 күн бұрын
The 1st part about shorter is correct but elephants being large but living long is due more to their body structure and physiology. They have a slower metabolism and other factors as well. And it's been studied that larger animals live longer but larger than average of the animals actually live shorter because of the square cubed law and same for humans
