River otters are so cute tho. I would have a lot of trouble seeing one of them in a trap. Feeling the pain. That's why I'm not someone who uses traps. I simply don't want an animal to suffer. I hunt with a bow and rifle. Nice catch tho

TRAPPER J OUTDOORS “FLAIR” when he traps an animal and he goes to dispatch the animal DO NOT shoot it in the head bc it will bleed all over SHOOT the animal in THE “LUNGS” you will have no blood or anything and the animal will stay clean and look nice still I promise you this works I tried it with my trap sets whenever I’ve caught something and it works I picked this technique up from TRAPPER J

I used the triangular sinkable anchors to put in water ski courses years ago . They hold well as long as you don't pull straight up on them soon after installed. Advantage for my purpose was to make sure bouy on surface of deep water ended up where you wanted it.

I understand that in different places animals are more scarce but where I live otters are on every lake, river, and pond. I found it funny when he said it was kinda big because that would just be a small to regular sized otter where I live, that could also be due to what food is in the area but still cool catch.

I consider myself an long time avid sportsmen, but taking out an otter does not seem like the thing I would want do. I have only seen one in my lifetime, and I live in your area. But you sure have the right. I am glad you are getting it mounted for others to see and learn about.

I used to trap and skin when I was a kid in the late 1970's. Back then raccoons were getting $35--$50 a pelt!!! Catching and skinning 3--5 a day I made ALOT of $$$ that season especially for a 10 year old. I bought a BRAND NEW Kawasaki KD-100 for $600 back then

Yeah I was pissed off and disappointed that he killed it he says they do damage obviously not where he lives when they are so rare but to late it’s gone. It’s just sad when over here in Australia where I live we have lost a million animals in the last week due to fires.

Robert Z D In his defense, what he is doing is totally legal and The DNR wouldnt allow trapping otter unless there was a decent population of them. On a side note everyone promoting #prayforaustralia an idiot because it just gives people an excuse not to donate or act to change anything. Hope whoever lit those fires rots in hell!
