Hello, I thought it would be fun to try Brad's guide to cutting a shag on my curly hair & share it with you.
I've been cutting my hair for more than 10 years (I tried everything from shaved head, pixie, bob with curtain bangs, micro bangs, platinum blonde, black and everything in between). One thing I've learned is that when it comes to curly hair, mistakes can be easily hidden. So keep that in mind.
Brad's guide was easy to follow & you won't need more than a good pair of scissors (mine are a bit old but still do the job).

It’s all about the layers & the texture of your hair. Curly hair is very forgiving when it comes to mistakes 🤪 that said, I’ve been cutting my own hair for the past 10 years … hope you’ll be able to achieve the SHAG next time 😜💋

Go into a hairdressers in the UK & ask for a shag..😂😂😂😂You'll either end up being arrested or end up with your knickers round your ankles depending on the establishment..lol .Oh..and only ever ask for a ' fringe ' & definitely NOT a ' bang' .it means the same as a shag here funny enough.lol

2/3 of the way through, this is the 3rdcone I've seen following brads tutorial, you seemed to do it the best, need better scissors, but you were the only one not to say, I don't want to, you followed the instructions better, and got a much better result

Oh my gosh! You’re stunning!! I also have naturally curly hair, but mine is down to my butt. If it wasn’t so long (or if I wanted it shorter), I’d totally do this because WOW it looks so good on you! Hey Sarah! Thanks for your kind words. I am also growing my hair, but I really like to have all these layers, otherwise, it's just a flat, frizzy mess. 🤪 Well, I have worked in a Toni & Guy salon for a short time (as a receptionist), and I've been cutting my hair for 8+ years. I'm much better at cutting other people's hair though 😝 No school, just understanding how hair 'acts' with certain cuts. ✂️

You can wear it with a side part! I do it as well. But in that case, make sure you don’t cut the layers too short next to your face. 😊

It is confusing for sure. 😄 I've been cutting my hair for 10+ years. Tried everything from completely shaved, half-shaved, pixie, bob, long, shag etc. I'm not afraid to make mistakes.

Thanks Marta! ☺️ Well… I don’t even want to write it down… 🤣 So, after years and years of trial and error, I have figured how I can achieve a light chestnut color from my dark brown hair. I use a platinum blonde dye and leave it on for like 5 mins. However, wouldn’t recommend this method as previously processed hair will act differently. There you have it. 🤪

As someone who has been shamed for having dark underarmsmy while life, I am fascinated by women who lift their arms without any hesitationof showing pit. It has literally caused me so much angst plus I sweat buckets. It's terrible being in my ugly body. Ugh. But yeah she has pristine everything even armpits.

Hey there! 🙃 Honestly, I don't really use anything. I used a mousse in this video, just to follow the instructions as much as possible, but it kind of weighed down my hair. I just use shampoo & conditioner, and air dry or use a hairdryer with a diffuser. (always use a diffuser) 😗

Almost every wavy hair looks the same when wet, it looks straight, so I wouldn't use that as a rule. Your hair probably has a different texture than hers

Do you still not use anything? I need some recommendations! And yes you do a great job and have no formal training!

Hey! Well it depends, but I wouldn’t suggest you use any products before cutting. Depending on what type of haircut you want, the easiest is to wash your hair, use a diffuser to dry it, and then cut. This way, you can avoid getting rid of too much length

Yes, you can but you'll have some pieces in the front that will not go in the ponytail. You could do a high ponytail, or use some gel for the shorter parts. 🙂

I didn't cut a lot of it off, as it was already quite short, and curly hair shrinks. It's always easier to go back & cut more than to take off too much. 😊
